Despite her Italian roots, singer and songwriter Alice June has always particularly enjoyed producing, singing and performing the arts in English. Alice was raised in a small Italian village and began performing in musicals before moving to Milan, where she expanded her singing and musical talents on the city’s biggest stages and began working with a host of varied professionals.
Her lyrics are influenced by her extensive travels, and her music is heavily inspired by British indie pop-rock bands such as Florence and the Machine.
June’s latest release, “City Vibes”, was recorded in studios across London and Italy, and was mastered by a New York City based multi-Grammy winner. It is an international collaboration that features quite the experienced ensemble, including a host of seasoned Italian musicians and producers, and numerous high profile industry stars that had previously worked with the likes of Pavarotti.
The song itself is extremely effective at painting a stunning picture, describing the magical ambiance of a deep and engaging conversation between two people in a city, as the evening approaches and the lights of the nearby skyscrapers begin to glimmer and the sounds of the city blend into their discussion like the soundtrack to a screenplay. A delicate acoustic guitar is complimented perfectly by the angelic and driving vocals of June, which shapes “City Vibes” up as a perfect pop/rock beauty ballad.
