Coming from Vale in North Carolina, Jennifer Alvarado is a singer-songwriter who makes country tinged pop music. Since making her debut in 2014 with the single “Relentlessly”, she’s cemented her reputation as a talented songwriter and performer with her passionate vocals and grooving upbeat catchy sound.
Last Spring she was named ‘One to Watch’ by the Nashville Songwriters Association and her singles “IDWYB” and “Filthy Water” were Top 10 Finalists for ‘Best Pop Song’ and ‘Best Modern Country Song’ for the Spring and Summer World Songwriting Awards last year. More recently, she’s been dubbed the ‘2021 Country Artist of the Year’ by Indie Star Radio and she’s currently nominated for five International Singer Songwriter Association Awards, including ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’, and nominated for a Josie Award for Female Music Video of the Year for “Filthy Water”.
Going from strength-to-strength with each new release, she shared her debut EP Playing With Fire last year and has been working on her most ambitious artistic work to date with her new album titled Songbird. Split into two parts, with each featuring a collection of songs that demonstrates her growth as an artist as well as her astonishing ability at crafting timeless country pop music.
She’s just released the first part of the double album with Songbird: Part One, with the first six original songs of the two-part release. Sonebird: Part One features the two recent singles, opening track “Rock This Way” which delivers an anthemic sing-a-long hit sound and “Curious”, a beautiful and poignant song about liking someone as more than just a friend.
Across the release, Alvarado spins a fiercely catchy sound that flows from song to song in seamless fashion, creating something anyone and everyone can enjoy listening to. Commenting on Songbird: Part One, Jennifer Alvarado shares, “For me, this project was about healing and finally finding my unique sound and approach to creating music.”
