Just under one month ago Liverpool five piece Gulf released their first music video for their single ‘Tell Me Again’, which saw the camera shy band stay loyal to the psychedelic images they publish with their tracks and on their social media.
Now the band are back with another vibrant image to accompany their new single ‘Ocean’, one of hopefully many tracks to come from their recent sessions in their Liverpool studio. The track has arrived just in time for their 1pm set tomorrow as part of Liverpool Sound City, before other Festival appearances listed below.
The band now have three singles below the belt, and it’s pleasing to see that ‘Ocean’ doesn’t stray from the band’s shimmering sound that’s taking the music scene by storm. Interestingly, ‘Ocean’ is almost presented in two parts, as the haziness is lowered during the last minute or so as the tempo increases and the drums take their starring role. Though still as woozy as ever, the guitar style also includes some fragmented strumming action. It’s really no surprise that The Line Of Best Fit deeming it their track of the day today.
With the band’s promise of new music to follow in the coming weeks, positive words from well established sources such as DIY and NME magazine, and appearances at well established festivals such as Latitude, surely it’s not possible for Gulf to be any more up and coming than they currently are!
