‘All The Truman Girls’ will be the first physical release for both Trowler and independent Manchester label Echolalia Records; a four track EP that follows the digital release of the double a-side single ‘Girl’ and ‘Walk Away’ earlier this year.
A first physical release is exciting enough as it is for any musician, label or fan, so wait until you hear that ‘All The Truman Girls’ is going to be pressed as a set of 75 cassettes! The cassettes will be pressed and released exclusively for this year’s Cassette Store Day on 17th October!
Trowler is otherwise known as Alfie Firmin; Alfie is a multi-instrumentalist, originally from Essex, and impressively recorded ‘All The Truman Girls’ in his own home studio. The EP sees Trowler take a slight step in a different direction in comparison to the psych guitar sounds of previous singles ‘Girl’ and ‘Walk Away’, introducing synths into the mix for an altogether laidback and dreamier sound.
The lead track ‘Get So Far’ is remarkable, highlighting not only Alfie’s outstanding vocals, but also his skills as a musician as we hear his echoing vocals alongside soaring synths and chiming guitars – all brought together beautifully to make ‘Get So Far’ the perfect leading track. You can find the psychedelic video for ‘Get So Far’ at the bottom of this page.
The full track listing for the EP is as follows:
1. At Least
2. Get So Far
3. Ordinary People
4. Pull You Under
As previously mentioned, the EP will be available to purchase on cassette from 17th October from Record Stores participating in Cassette Store Day – make sure you keep an eye out for a list of where the EP will be stocked to ensure that you don’t get to a store and experience severe disappointment! The EP will also be available to buy online, both physically and digitally.
