With epic visuals, a sprawling narrative and even bigger tunes, TTRRUUCES deliver unbridled creativity which has captured the imagination of Jack Saunders and Phil Taggart at Radio 1, Tom Robinson at 6 Music, John Kennedy at Radio X, while also earned adds to key playlists at Spotify, Deezer and SoundCloud. Even lockdown brought no let-up in the duo’s innovation as they shared a mesmerising two-person full-instrumentation version of recent single ‘Evil Elephant’. They also performed at Dork’s online festival Homeschool.
Now TTRRUUCES take another major step towards the June 26th release of their debut album by sharing the new single ‘I’m Alive’ along with its official video. The song has already gained a devoted following, with countless people flooding their social media asking for its official release after it featured on the soundtrack to FIFA 20, and being searched on Shazam over 23K times since.
Their bond is reinforced when they decide to take a spontaneous road trip to truly get to know each other. For the first time they feel new, exalted, and alive. From darkness comes light: an ascension or a spiritual awakening.
Set to big, groovy old school hip-hop beats that out-Beck Beck, TTRRUUCES created a song whose happy energy is completely contagious while their exultant vocal harmonies declare: “To see your face it always makes it worthwhile to survive” after their primal scream “I’m alive!”
The track is accompanied by a dazzling new video, which adds a visual dimension to this new chapter. The duo embark upon the road trip of a lifetime, travelling through their fictional world. The animation beams with primary colours, while numerous subtle details to other parts of the story are hidden in plain view. It’s a clever way of further immersing fans into the story.
Their brand new website further explores TTRRUUCES universe through an interactive map of the album, where Sadie and Syd travel from door to door, with each opening a new chapter in the final opera (“a slowly-building, evocative, hyper-imaginative world’-DIY). Visit here.
