Producer Wizard Death brings us his latest release with the full length IN MIST offering a dreamy lo-fi beat focused journey. This release also marks the first project where the producer works on beats with the guitarist and bassist in his indie band Easy Sleeper, which has allowed for a level-up in sonic palette and a hint at the Wizard Death sound going forward.
Commenting on the album the producer says, “IN MIST contains my favourite tracks I’ve worked on over the past 6 or so months, from more classic lo-fi ‘pink light/chaotic reflections’ to the ambient title track, ‘IN MIST’ to indie electronic ‘2020 feat. Easy Sleeper’ to IDM ‘stim’.”
This tape delivers a variety of sounds that all connect to show off the new Wizard Death direction – sparkly but restrained, hiding maximalism in minimalism, joyful but with a reserved sadness, experimental but rooted in various electronic traditions.
