Hailing from North Carolina, Al Mur is an electronic music producer and composer of luscious lo-fi hip hop instrumental soundscapes. Taking influence from the likes of Misc.Inc, Deadmau5, Robert Miles, Brian Culbertson and Peter White, Al Mur weaves in his various inspirations of hip hop, jazz, disco and trance styles to create his own brand of immersive electronic music.
Having always been fascinated by all kinds of music from classical to contemporary pop, the artist picked up guitar in high school before finding his calling as a producer when he came across GarageBand on iPad. Progressing on to Logic Pro X software, he now creates music in his home studio and performs his work live at local fine art shows and exhibitions.
Using his immediate listeners as critics, his pet Rottweiler will bark when the drums and bass become too loud and his young daughter dictates the short and sweet nature of his compositions by often questioning “Why it have to be so long?” when hearing his music. After developing his sound and building his reputation over the last three years, his music has been featured on Spotify’s official Discover Weekly, Daly Mix, LOFI JAZZ, Anime Beats, Lofi Sleep and many other notable playlists as well as delighting fans and tastemakers alike all over the world.
Now he’s back with his latest work and his new single titled “Goodbye Summer!”. Written about love and feeling good, the personal touch of the context of the music shine through; the track was inspired by his wife’s oil on canvas painting of their daughter.
Delivering the very best of the lo-fi sound, “Goodbye Summer!” is a beautiful and hazy beat-driven instrumental that’s perfect for studying or soundtracking a slow drive. Full of piquant melodic leads and a colourful synth-based arrangement, with his latest single, Al Mur lays down more of his stunning creative vision.
