New music from Haulm

Haulm’s new single “Preludes” is a hauntingly beautiful track that resonates with an emotional depth that’s hard to ignore. This track is the first single from their upcoming EP of the same name, which is set to drop on May 26th, 2022.

The duo, JT Norton and Reed Kackley (BAILE), have a unique sound that blends minimal electronic compositions with intimate and honest vocals. “Preludes” is a stunning example of this fusion, with somber piano chords that underscore Norton’s soft and hushed vocals. Snapping percussion, layered voices, and sampled guitar riffs meld together to create a soundscape that’s at once ethereal and grounded.

The track has an introspective quality that captures the daily sense of inauthenticity and self-doubt that we all experience at some point in our lives. Norton explains that “Preludes” explores the idea that one’s life and actions are just an introduction to something bigger, more important, or the main event, and that one is just the filler while people get in their seats. The lyrics are relatable and vulnerable, inviting the listener to reflect on their own experiences.

“Preludes” is a strong lead single that showcases Haulm’s ability to create music that’s compelling and emotionally moving. The duo has a knack for blending different genres seamlessly, resulting in a sound that’s unique and refreshing. The track has a dreamy quality that is grounded by the melancholic piano chords and Norton’s delicate vocal style.

Overall, “Preludes” is a stunning track that sets the bar high for Haulm’s upcoming EP. The single is a testament to the duo’s songwriting abilities and their commitment to creating music that’s honest, vulnerable, and sonically rich. With its reflective lyricism and ethereal sound, “Preludes” is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates electronic music with a soul.
