Hey Karasu, how’s things?
Everything is fine, thank you and you?
We’re great, thanks! So, which artist first made a lasting impression on you?
I would say Martin Garrix, since my childhood he really inspired me a lot and marked me with his lifestyle and his music, I find him brilliant, I fell in love with “Animals” as soon as the sound came out and I realised that I already knew him before the release of Animals but I think I attached a lot of memories of my childhood, especially with friends.
What’s your earliest memory of making music?
My first memory of me making music dates back to my 5 years when I started to play drums, basic I wanted to learn to play the guitar but the registrations were only made from 6 years old so following the advice the drums went to teach me the rhythm and I have never let go of my pair of drumsticks since.
Which artists do you draw most inspiration from today?
Today I would say that I have a lot of influence in my musical styles, from Petit Biscuit, to Martin Garrix, Brooks, DJ Snake…
How else do you find inspiration for your music?
I often come to mind with an emotion or an idea for a melody and I spend hours trying to transcribe it the best I can in my music software, sometimes it’s fast and other times it’s not, I attach enormous importance to my sound inspirations in my head and I want to make them as close as possible to my imagination to reality.
What would you say is the perfect setting for listeners to enjoy your sound?
I think at a festival, in the car or in his room with his headphones or earphones, I tried a lot of different styles to cover a wide range of emotions but one thing is sure, it’s the sound at full speed, well on staying reasonable and not exceeding the recommended volume.
How has your own style and sound evolved since you started out?
*laugh* My first songs hurt my ears a lot because I did very little mixing or mastering on my tracks but I think I’ve come a long way, I started with very calm and repetitive songs because for me at the time, chill’s music necessarily meant loops but today I try to be careful with my layers and my mixing/mastering, and cover more of the EDM and Dance/House music genre.
How did you find making your new single “The Heat”?
It was a very fun experience, I wanted to draw inspiration from a sound universe that I liked, that of “Magenta Riddim” by DJ Snake, I loved the bass and the Trap keys on his pieces, the summer vibes that this piece gave me, I would like to make “The Heat” a hymn of summer and festivals. I loved having fun with the growls and white noise in the track, as well as the little noises added at times, I think it added a cooler touch to the whole track.
What message did you want to get across with this release?
I would like this song to be played in sets, clubs, festivals and on radios all over the world, I really want my music to reach as many people as possible and that they feel more confident and carefree while listening ” The Heat”.
What artist have you been listening to most recently?
According to Spotify, my 5 artists that I have listened to the most recently are:
01 MARTIN GARRIX
02 PETIT BISCUIT
03 SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA
04 DAVID GUETTA
05 THE CHAINSMOKERS
What’s the main thing you want people to get out of listening to your music?
I just hope that the track will make them vibrate as much as me during my studio sessions, but I really think that the feeling that this title gives me is carelessness and self-confidence.
What’s been your favourite live performance so far?
I did very little live performance, but I would say it was during the Frostfyre Unity Url Festival, it was in a small circle with other producer and DJ friends, it was great fun to see their reaction live during the set, it gave me chills and goosebumps, I think probably because it was the first time that people listened to my mix and reacted to it live.
Who would be 3 artists to headline your dream festival? And where would it be?
I think it would be Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris and Petit Biscuit, and for the festival I would say anywhere as long as there is sun and music there is bound to be a good mood.
Do you have any advice for a new artist wanting to follow your footsteps?
Never give up, only keep constructive criticism and only if it allows you to uplift and improve yourself, make music for yourself first and if the music reaches the ears of others is a plus, but if we are not passionate about what we do or that we do it more willingly so we cannot move forward.
Finally, what do you have lined up for the rest of 2023?
I hope this year that my songs will be on the radio and that I will share my music on the national and international scene, I still have a lot of music to release and I hope to be able to make new collaborations with my friends or new talents, or even big international artists who knows haha, I hope that my releases this year will live up to my expectations but above all I am always happy to publish my songs and make them discover the world .
