Starting out of the unlikely setting of a Science class, the duo Syence, comprised of Zach and Brayden, embarked on a musical journey that belies their engineering backgrounds. Graduates of a prestigious engineering school, the pair’s decision to diverge from their academic paths and dive into music production led to the birth of the aptly named Syence. Currently based in Los Angeles, the duo’s unique blend of electronic stylings aims to evoke a spectrum of emotions, from laughter to dancing to tears, all within the same musical experience.
The story of Syence’s musical evolution began with their debut single “Arrival” in 2017, and since then, they’ve been on a trajectory of success, amassing tens of millions of streams and cultivating a dedicated following. Their sound, characterised by a captivating combination of sunset-tinged cinematic atmospheres and high-energy electronic vibes, has earned them recognition and acclaim in the music scene.
Their latest single, “skydrivin,” showcases Syence’s creative prowess once again, this time in collaboration with the talented Nashville-based songwriter and producer Jake Neumar. Neumar’s notable credits include collaborations with Megan & Liz, BHAVIOR, Daniel Allan, and Caroline Kole, among others. This synergistic partnership has resulted in a spacey, house-style electronic pop track that exemplifies the artistic depth and production finesse of both Syence and Neumar.
“skydrivin” takes flight with a gentle yet infectious popping beat, immediately setting the stage for what’s to come. As the track unfolds, the elegant vocals glide in, carrying with them blissful melodies that effortlessly blend with warm synth tones. The soundscape begins to swell with dreamy textures, creating an immersive experience that transports listeners into a realm of sonic exploration.
At the height of the track’s energy, the drop ensues, releasing a burst of intensity. The beat punches and a cascade of fluttering synths fills the sonic landscape, enveloping the listener in a whirlwind of sound. This crescendo of elements creates a unique and enchanting sonic journey, demonstrating Syence and Neumar’s ability to craft music that not only captivates but also transcends genre boundaries.
he song’s production is slick and polished, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that both acts bring to their work. Through its blend of stunning vocals, powerful beats and dreamy synthscapes, the track creates a memorable atmosphere that resonates long after the last note fades.
