Lele Pescia, known by his moniker Lehel P., is an accomplished visual musician and sonic explorer hailing from the city of Turin. His journey through music has been nothing short of fascinating, marked by a rich tapestry of influences and a deep passion for crafting sonic landscapes. While today he boasts an impressive collection of over thirty synths, it’s the legendary Pink Floyd that serves as the cornerstone of his musical inspiration.
His introduction to music began within the world of progressive rock bands, a genre known for its intricate compositions and sonic explorations. Notably, he was part of the band TRed during the mid-90s, a group that earned recognition by reaching the finals of two prestigious Italian music contests; Rock Targato Italia in 1994 and Indipendenti Fare Musica in 1995. These early experiences served as a musical foundation, but the artist was far from settling into a single genre.
As his musical journey unfolded, Lehel P. ventured into the spheres of ethnic music and eventually electronic soundscapes. It was during his time at CPM in Milan that he had the privilege of learning from the esteemed master Andrea Lovecchio, renowned for his work on “Luci a San Siro” with Roberto Vecchioni. Lovecchio was profoundly impressed by the kaleidoscope of sounds that Lehel P. was able to conjure, affectionately dubbing him ‘The Painter.’
Now, Lehel P. presents his latest musical creation, the single “atomic structure of a misty day.” This composition is an intricate tapestry of ambient electronic sound. Crafted with stunning attention to detail, the song invites listeners into a dreamscape woven together with analogue and digital synths and samples.
The music unfolds as a hypnotic journey, weaving delicate textures and intricate beats that gently patter to propel the song forward. The warm embrace of analogue synths contrasts perfectly with the crystalline precision of digital instruments. The result is a captivating ambient experience that at once induces reflection and soporific bliss.
