Hailing from Ravenna in Italy, Giardini Oort is a musical project that opens a portal to serenity and contemplation with their compositions. Led by the visionary composer and performer Andrea Para, this project has a singular mission; to wrap listeners in immersive soundscapes that induce relaxation, meditation and mental clarity.
The project draws from a wide spectrum of genres including ambient, downtempo and Lo-Fi styles, while also looking to artists such as Boards of Canada, Radiohead, Trent Reznor, Maria Dahlstrom and Sigur Ros. Filtering these influences through their own sonic lens, they construct their sound using meditation percussion instruments such as a handpan as well as the chime of bells, Tibetan singing bowls and the HAPI drum.
Unveiling the project’s sound this year with the debut single “Grey Stone,” they’ve since shared a string of tracks that piece together the first chapter of their sonic vision and musical mission. Now they bring us their latest release with the new single titled “Login,” a truly hypnotic composition that ebbs and flows through a dreamy soundscape.
“Login” guides you on a multi-phase journey into the depths of pensive reflection and self-discovery, starting with an intro that encourages relaxation and a clearing of the mind. Here the music slips your into a soporific state via softly swelling synth tones and reversed textures, joined by the gentle patter of wubbing percussion shots as the arrangement slowly flows and builds with weaving melodic lines grounded by the snap of a snare.
Halfway through, bright piano plinks flat over a subtle, glitching beat as soft vocalisations add delicate colour to the composition. It’s a truly transportive piece that takes you to a place of calm and soothing serenity, allowing you to reconnect with yourself and the world around you.
“Login” is an enthralling composition that stretches beyond mere musical pleasure to provide the soundtrack for a profound spiritual experience. With each note, the soundscape creates a sanctuary of tranquility, allowing one to explore the intricate harmony between the mind and the spirit.
