New York City-based artist Josh Tepper‘s journey through music began when he stepped into the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. This iconic institution laid the foundation for his creative adventure, which he continued to pursue at NYU’s renowned Tisch School of the Arts.
He’s heavily influenced by a diverse range of iconic artists, including Pat Benatar, U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Drawing inspiration from these acts, he embarked on the creation of his own distinct brand of pop music, formed by bright melodies and an alternative R&B vibe.
In February last year, Josh Tepper introduced himself to the music world with his debut single, “Built Me,” serving up an exceptional showcase of his artistic vision and sonic talent. The song opens with gentle guitar tones and stuttered vocal sample shots, setting a mellow and enticing tone from the very beginning.

As the beat enters it brings with it a subtle groove, perfectly complementing Josh’s seductive vocal delivery. His voice, laced with a hint of vulnerability, weaves enchanting melodies that immediately dazzle the listener.
When the chorus arrives, “Built Me” undergoes a transformation. Josh’s vocals soar, embracing the energy and passion of the moment. The arrangement gains momentum, featuring intricate synth layers and crisp drum beats that propel the track forward.
The song has since racked up tens of thousands of spins on Spotify alone, as Josh has continued his inevitable rise, dropping multiple singles since, including a duet version of the song with Madisyn Shipma. Josh Tepper’s debut single catapulted him into the spotlight, marking the beginning of a promising musical journey.
