London-based artist Adam Wedd has long been making his mark in the music industry in the UK and beyond. His impressive list of accomplishments includes sharing the stage with the likes of Ed Sheeran, TV features and radio play worldwide and performing over a thousand shows across various countries. What’s even more remarkable is that Adam Wedd has achieved all of this as an independent artist, without the backing of a record label.
Now, Adam Wedd brings us his latest release with his new EP titled pop goes the indie kid, a five-track release showcases his talent and versatile sound The EP opens with “fomo,” a delightful folk pop outing full of gentle guitar work, warm bass pulses and subtle string embellishments to form the backdrop for Adam’s velvety vocals. His melodic prowess shines through, drawing listeners into his musical universe via a moving and catchy sound.
The second track, “homesick,” shifts gears into a dazzling indie rock anthem with a pop-focused songwriting. Adam’s impassioned vocals soar above a dynamic arrangement that blends soft synth elements, intricate guitar plucking and chords. The song’s energy fluctuates, propelled by drums that transition from gentle kicks to punchy beats during the rousing chorus. “homesick” exemplifies Adam’s ability to craft engaging and infectious music that’s impossible not to love.
He’s brought us the premiere of the “homesick” music video which you can check out for the first time below.
“party like the 1st time” immediately immerses listeners in an energetic rock pop extravaganza. Slick vocal delivery takes flight, supported by a dynamic musical backing of lightly crunching electric guitars and snapping drums. On “different,” the EP takes a poignant turn. Here, Adam presents a ballad-style sound featuring bright piano tones and warm strings. His subdued vocal performance imbues the song with a sense of intimacy and vulnerability, revealing a tender side of his artistic vision.
The EP closes with the folk pop sound of “ok,” that sees Adam delivery a delicate acoustic guitar backing for his graceful vocals to hover above. Tinged with piquant touches of piano notes and organ tones, it’s an intimate and timeless finale to his superb new EP.
Each track on the EP offers its own unique experience, demonstrating the depth of Adam’s songwriting and performance abilities. His emotive vocals, coupled with his hook-filled writing and perfectly structured arrangements, make for an EP that’s sure to win over listeners around the world.

What’s your earliest memory of making music?
I remember piling into my best friends’ grandfather’s shed at the age of 15 years old and plugging in our guitar amps and playing so loud!
Which artists do you draw most inspiration from today?
Anyone who’s making honest music that makes me feel something! Right now i’m loving Solo Muzik, Susan Lucas, Marcus Man and tonight I’m going to see my friend Tom Speight end his tour at Islington Assembly room, i’m super pumped!
How else do you find inspiration for your music?
Walking, driving, swimming, watching a kick ass movie or binge-worthy series, reading a book or sometimes listening to people’s conversations whilst i’m grabbing coffee somewhere. Is that a little voyeurism-ish? 🙂
What do you love about the London music scene?
I think London it’s the only place in the world where you can play over 100 open mic nights every night of the week! A few friends and I run a whatsapp group for London musicians and everyone shares where they’re playing that night – there’s almost 600 people in that group, what a beautiful music making/ loving community ❤
What would you say is the perfect setting for listeners to enjoy your sound?
I’ve been playing cosy living room shows where everyone is packed in to small theatres and I’ve been enjoying everything in between
How has your own style and sound evolved since you started out?
I think now, I’m more honest in my writing, I’ve had my heart broken a few times and my time at Tileyard music taught me a lot about the importance of narrative.
Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
Eddie Izzard, I’d love to write a comedy song together
How did you find making your new EP ‘pop goes the indie kid’?
I’ve loved every single moment of the process, it’s my first record release with Sony Awal distribution so I wanted to make sure every single detail was as close to perfect as possible
What message did you want to get across with this release?
I wanted people to feel like this record is like a night out. It starts with anticipation, there’s some great highs and then finally, it winds down ready with reflection and sleep, so that we can do it all again tomorrow. I hope that makes sense?
What artist have you been listening to most recently?
I’ve been loving the first few records by Ed Sheeran. Whilst on tour in the US we had A LOT of driving to do, so listened to his first 4 albums back to back, absolutely wonderful stuff.
What’s the main thing you want people to get out of listening to your music?
I hope that my music helps people to feel something, or if they’re already feeling something, that my music will sit with them in their moment of feeling, whatever that may be. Does that sound too pretentious 🙂
You’ve played loads of shows both sides of the Atlantic, what’s been your favourite live performance so far?
3 that sticks out in my mind, was Boston live at the Hilton, it was the first time i realised that I could do this, the audience were brilliant! Then a house gig in Chicago which was absolutely rammed with kind wonderful souls. But recently I played a sold out show in Los Angeles and made some wonderful new friends, oops that’s 3
Who would be 3 artists to headline your dream festival? And where would it be?
Gang of Youths, H.E.R and Eddie Izzard, it will be on a raspberry farm somewhere in Poland.
Do you have any advice for a new artist wanting to follow your footsteps?
Well, I get lost a lot, so don’t follow my footsteps unless you enjoy the adventure of being lost and having to find your way back
Finally, what do you have lined up for the rest of 2023?
I’ve got 2 brand new records coming out in 2023 and a whole lot more touring and live shows! Special events lined up for my patreons too!
