Alternative Pop from Taylor Noelle

Taylor Noelle is an artist who stands at the crossroads of different genres and styles from the melancholic to the uplifting. A California native, her music takes direction from a sun-soaked upbringing, reflecting the influence of the region’s iconic songwriters while infusing her sound with elements of disco, shoegaze, classic country and hints of psychedelic rock.

The result is a dark and dreamy sonic output, where reflective writing collides with upbeat rhythms, creating a musical experience that’s at once thought-provoking and engaging. Taylor Noelle introduced her unique sound to the world in 2018 with the debut single “Words.” Following up with her breakout sophomore single “End of the Night,” Noelle earned attention from Billboard and Spotify’s Fresh Finds. Her soulful sound, combined with confessional lyrics, marked her explosive entrance to the alternative pop scene.

In the subsequent years, Taylor Noelle’s discography evolved, revealing a diverse range of influences. R&B-driven tracks like “What Can I Do” and “Prove” demonstrated her versatility, while 70s-esque pop in “Rely” showcased her ability to frame retro influences in her modern lens.

Now, in 2023, Taylor Noelle returns with a new chapter in her musical journey, presenting the lead single and title track from her second EP with “If You Want That.” Opened with a groove of shuffling drums and soft electric piano tones, Taylor’s smooth vocals ride above to thread alluring melodies via soulful delivery.

Full of rhythm, catchy hooks and slick guitar flourishes, with “If You Want That,” Taylor Noelle serves up a shimmering alternative pop outing cut with subtle disco vibes. Produced by Boone Wallace, who’s previously worked with artists like Samia and Soccer Mommy, “If You Want That” shines with Noelle’s trademark vocals dripping in reverb, an intoxicating arrangement and a potent groove. As the lead single from her second EP, the song delivers as a stunning preview of what’s to come from Taylor Noelle.
