Based in London, ANASTÁZIE is a rising star in the sphere of modern R&B, armed with a unique sound that’s been making a mark on the scene. This talented artist, songwriter and co-producer has been capturing the attention and admiration of audiences not only in the UK but around the world.
ANASTÁZIE’s musical journey is partly built on her diverse background, with roots extending to both Czech and Armenian heritage. This multicultural foundation significantly shapes her artistic expression, resulting in a sound that is as original as it is enjoyable.
Having started her musical endeavour at the age of 17 when she relocated to London to pursue her passion, ANASTÁZIE has evolved into an exciting artist, winning over audiences not only as a singer-songwriter but also as a performer and co-producer. In 2022 she unveiled her original sonic vision with the debut single “Beautiful Time,” returning the following year with the sophomore track “Girl Like Me.”
Dropping a further three singles last year, including the collaborative track “Regret” with Skondtrack, she now enters 2024 with her most ambitious release to date; her debut EP titled FLEETING VISIT, this time linking up with producer The Musa to bring her new release to life. Featuring four tracks, the EP covers a range of styles, capturing the full scope of ANASTÁZIE’s diverse musical output while retaining the thread of her distinct sonic identity throughout.
Opened by “HAJIME,” the EP kicks off with the pattering of a tribal style beat, crafting an intriguing and grooving energy from the outset. ANASTÁZIE’s expressive vocalisations build the anticipation as the pulse of the drums keeps the dance-focused vibe going throughout this Afro-beat style cut. It’s an energising first track that announces the release with an infectious sound that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face and have listeners moving.
“TEMPTATION” slows things down with a sultry alternative pop aesthetic that sees ANASTÁZIE and The Musa work with previous collaborator Skondtrack. Smooth sax tones drift above the soft shimmer of electric piano chords, gliding to staccato pips as the elegant flutters of ANASTÁZIE’s ushers in the laid back snap of the beat. Packed full of piquant instrumental flourishes, addictive rhythm and intoxicating vocal leads that sees ANASTÁZIE stretch her voice out and spin compelling lyricism, “TEMPTATION” is an instantly catchy jam that keeps the flow of the EP while offering another side to her sound.
“JUNGLE” features Prague-based producer Kewu, serving up a moody deconstructed club angle with an R&B twist. Riding the punch of the beat, ANASTÁZIE’s vocals soar above to lay down alluring melodic leads as the intricate instrumental touches inject subtle hints of her Armenian roots.
The EP closes with “WILDNESS,” which starts with an airy atmosphere and the soft tapping of percussive shots before bursting open with a lively bass line and superb display of ANASTÁZIE’s soulful vocal leads backed by graceful backing voice layers. Brimming with memorable hooks, slick beats and wrapped in a smokey haze, it’s another stellar showcase of ANASTÁZIE’s originality. Across FLEETING VISIT, ANASTÁZIE’s stunning vocals, The Musa’s arrangement skill and production panache and the talents of the collaborating artists all collide to make a striking release that firmly puts ANASTÁZIE on the map of must watch artists, marking what’s sure to be her breakout year.
