Nickon Faith is a Manchester-based multi-genre producer and DJ who’s been making a mark in the music scene since 2015. Renowned for his distinct production style and mixes, Nickon Faith has propelled himself into numerous musical projects, earning a unique reputation along the way.
His sound, driven by lush soundscapes and energetic grooves, has extended far beyond the boundaries of Manchester. Having showcased his talent at venues across the UK, including renowned spots like EGG and E1, and performing at festivals like El Dorado and One in the Woods, Faith has left a lasting impression on the electronic music scene.
His debut single, “Dusty,” unveiled in 2020, marked the beginning of a prolific career, with subsequent releases gaining support from BBC Radio 1 and heavyweight artists like John Digweed and HAAi. His impressive journey reached new heights with the recognition of his debut album, Circumambient, lauded by Mixmag as a shining success.
Now, following the success of his recent EP titled Visions, he now brings us his latest release with the new EP Signs, featuring five new tracks that capture the perfect snapshot of his evolving trance-inspired sound. Once again released via Richie Blacke’s imprint Mess Express Records, Signs sees Nickon Faith deliver a stunning synth-focused, beat-driven dance music experience.
Opened by the title track “Signs,” Nickon links up with vocalist Axelle to craft an immersive electronic pop cut. Crafting a dreamy backdrop of stuttered synth textures, joined by the deep pulse of bass and soft punch of drums, Axelle threads alluring vocal leads above, resulting in a superb collaboration that kicks off Nickon Faith’s latest EP in dazzling fashion.
“Love” follows with it’s bouncy electronic percussive shots capped by playful synth lines, fluttering and modulating above as the stab of bass lines and airy vocal samples dance around the mix. It’s a slick showcase of Nickon Faith’s originality and knack for crafting colourful arrangements full of danceable rhythm.
With “Nothing State,” the gentle build up of spacey synth tones are carried by the filtered strike of drums, building to a drop that propels the song with uptempo energy and intricate sound design. “Fragments” crafts a delicate atmosphere of lightly fuzzy synth tones, shimmering with crushed note runs above a laid back beat to create a hypnotic and gently uplifting listening experience.
The EP closes with “Forever (I Want You)” with it’s lively drum beat driving an atmospheric fabric of soft synth textures and reverb-drenched vocal samples. Building up the arrangement with layers of synth timbres as the ever-present energy of the drums carries the song forward, it’s a stellar finale to Nickon Faith’s fantastic new EP as he continues to operate at the very highest level in the dance music scene.
