Indie Rock from Cloudbelly

Hailing from Western Massachusetts, Cloudbelly is an award-winning indie folk outfit who wrap their intimate songwriting in cinematic musical grandeur. Fronted by singer-songwriter Corey Laitman whose spellbinding voice and profound lyricism defines the band’s output, they’re joined by guitarist and ambient music maker Sam Perry and drummer and producer Nate Mondschein.

Making their entrance in 2021, they dropped their debut release with the double single “Up in Smoke” which they followed up with a string of singles as well as a collaboration with Love Crumbs on “Vacant Dream.” This month has seen them take their journey to the next level as they kick off an extended tour across the USA in support of their brand new debut record i know i know i know.

Bringing us a taste of their new album, they share the LP’s first full-length track and single titled “Fascinated.” With the new single, the band serves up a bright and compelling indie rock outing that’s anthemic yet still elegant and heartfelt.

Brought in by the twanging lead guitar lines riding shuffling drums and deep pulse of bass, the arrangement dips down to delicate acoustic guitar backing as Corey’s soft vocal leads thread smooth melodies carrying poignant lyricism. Building up with the crunch of lightly gritty guitars and punching rolls of percussion, the song launches with the slick harmonised guitar leads.

Full of memorable melodic hooks, meaningful songwriting and epic instrumental work, “Fascinated” offers the perfect taste of the band’s debut album as they continue their inevitable rise as a must-watch band. As they embark on their tour to bring the new album alive on stage, Cloudbelly are sure to continue going from strength to strength as a group with a stunning and enduring sound.
