Timothy and the Apocalypse, a project created by the Australian nomadic producer Timothy Poulton, is a musical venture that dives into the deep waters of cinematic electronica and ambient trip hop. Revealing the moniker in 2021 with the single “You Oughta Love Me” with Katie M Little, he dropped the debut full-length record Future So Bright, featuring the breakout track “The Mindful Cherub” which landed on Spotify’s Just Chill and Night Shift editorial playlists.
Since then he’s released an astonishing amount of music across various singles, albums and remixes. Linking up with artists such as Chris Hamer-Smith, 9 Theory, Floating Pyramids, Erik Buschmann and other for collaborative releases, he’s racked up almost a million spins of his music on Spotify alone.
With a discography boasting three albums, including the groundbreaking All Busted Up, Timothy and the Apocalypse continues to go from strength to strength with each move. This year he’s made an impact with a string of exciting releases and now he brings us his latest effort with the brand new single titled “Nobody Left To Call.”
Crafted in his off-grid studio in Australia, “Nobody Left To Call” serves up an enthralling soundscape of deep and cinematic electronic music. Brought in by the gritty rumble of a bass synth line, the rattling snap of the beat injects a groove as airy female vocal elements dance above the arrangement. With a slick balance of intense sonic darkness tinged with bright melodic flutters, “Nobody Left To Call” delivers an immersive listening experience across four and a half minutes of constantly shifting electronica.
Building with the bouncy leads of a synth lines, the beat jumps with a shuffling progressive house vibe to craft an energising sound of punchy rhythm and danceable charge. Flowing through an enthralling scene of dynamic ebb and flow throughout, “Nobody Left To Call” presents the latest showcase of Timothy and the Apocalypse’s stunning sound design and creativity.
