Making a journey from Milan across the world to Los Angeles, the rising dance pop sensation Nieri has been winning over fans with his uptempo, hook-driven songs paired with striking visuals. Beyond the studio, his live performances stand as a thrilling spectacle, a blend of natural charisma and stage presence that has charmed audiences at events like WE FOUND NEW MUSIC, Breaking Sound in Los Angeles and New York City, Interpride’s Silence to Solidarity Concert and NYC Pride.
February 2022 marked Nieri’s entrance into the music scene with his debut single, “Beautiful Music,” followed by a series of successful singles, including “Face” and “In Our Eyes,” along with his debut EP, Starshine. Throughout the past year, Nieri continued to delight listeners with multiple singles and remixes as well as a cover of Grace Jones’ iconic hit, “Nightclubbing.”
Now, Nieri presents the highly anticipated follow-up to Starshine with his sophomore EP, Flow State. A nine-track musical journey that offer the perfect snapshot of his latest musical chapter, taking listeners through a journey of self-discovery via electro synths, techno textures and pop-focused melodies.
The EP opens with the atmospheric intro, “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” a brief thirty-second prelude that sets the scene for record. Immediately following, “Where Would You Drive?” kicks in, a slick dance-pop anthem propelled by a steady beat and the stuttering buzz of synth tones. Nieri’s soulful vocal leads soar above, creating a euphoric pop experience filled with instantly memorable hooks and intoxicating musical bliss.
“Protein Shake” introduces a moody soundscape with lively synth stabs and Nieri’s hushed spoken-word style vocals riding the punch of the beat. The track takes unexpected turns, featuring dazzling falsetto lines and a dreamy haze, showcasing Nieri’s ability to cut across various sonic landscapes in a cohesive sound. A standout track, “Rated X,” presents a contagious electronic pop sound filled with grooving rhythms, staccato synth shots and ethereal lead synth lines. Nieri’s stunning vocal performance snakes through the song, capturing dark R&B vibes while maintaining a cutting-edge dance-focused aesthetic.
Nieri’s cover of the classic track “Nightclubbing,” originally written by David Bowie and Iggy Pop, is a bold reinterpretation. Retaining the allure of the original’s rhythm-focused sound, he reframes it in his alternative pop style, incorporating buzzing synth textures, pitched vocal samples and a dance-worthy beat. With “Spoiler Alert,” he challenges typical notions of love, desire and materialism. With an addictive rhythm, Nieri threads a tale of devotion and human connection, showcasing his knack for crafting cutting edge dance pop, built by a clever interplay of percussive shots, pulsing bass lines and expressive vocal leads.
The EP’s lead track, “Every Feeling,” serves as a poignant dance pop anthem, addressing the theme of reclaiming personal power and embracing emotions without reservation. The uplifting production, marked by throbbing synths and euphoric beats, forms the perfect backdrop for Nieri’s powerful vocals and message. With addictive melodies, stunning vocal layers and a danceable beat, “Every Feeling” closes the EP on a spectacular high note.
