Paris-based composer, producer and artist DRUINE is new to the music scene yet his creative vision has been decades in the making. Arriving in the ambient music world, offering a sound that threads melancholy with an underlying sense of hope, his music presents a philosophical endeavour, driven by the belief that love is an absolute value.
Influenced by his wife, a poet and jazz pianist, DRUINE has developed his own ability to transform emotional intensity into serene and pleasant musical experiences. DRUINE views his music as a fundamental expression of his values, aiming to use sound as a force for positive change.
His goal is simple yet profound; to ease the daily lives of his listeners and help them regain self-confidence through the immersive power of music. With a background rich in various musical fields and a toolkit of advanced machinery that removes technical barriers, DRUINE is focused on pure creative expression.
Although his primary focus is on ambient soundscapes, he also has ambitious plans to branch out into other genres like techno, trance and reggaeton, collaborating with other artists on the way. Making his entrance last month, he’s already shared a string of compositions and a remix of Marie Noelle Slonina’s song “Qui on est.” Bringing us the perfect taste of his musical vision, he shares his debut single titled “Emotional Portal.”
The aptly titled piece delivers a truly enveloping soundscape that wraps you in a state of sonic bliss via stretching textures and drifting atmospheric tones. From the hazy swell of opening notes, the listener is pulled into a hypnotic trance-inducing state as the wash of synths gently glide and distant echoes of vocalisations combine to form a truly beautiful piece of cinematic instrumental music.
Flowing with sweeping melodic lines that softly rise and fall like the lapping tide, the track gradually develops across its expansive journey that stretches for almost twelve minutes of music to get completely lost in. It’s a compelling first artistic statement from a new artist who’s able to create spectacular moments of mesmeric musical compositions and we can’t wait to see where his exciting musical adventure will take him throughout 2024 and beyond.
