Based between Berlin and Athens, Kris Vango is a visionary artist exploring the crossroads of music, art and the cosmos. Born in Sydney, Australia, Kris has developed a unique vision that spans across various creative fields, from graphic design and video production to alternative healing techniques such as Tibetan sound bowl therapies and binaural frequency healing.
As a non-binary artist, Kris offers their own perspective to both the music world and metaphysical philosophies, blending soundscapes with deep symbolic meaning. At the heart of Kris Vango’s artistic journey is a compelling desire to document our solar system through narrative sound. By creating immersive sonic and visual works centred on each planetary body, Kris aims to merge the textures of club music with the ancient, shamanic roots of collective unity.
This concept fuels their sonic projects, where genre, collaboration, and live performance are used to craft expansive planetary soundscapes. Whether it’s through sound, live instrumentation, or visual components, Kris constructs a cosmic journey that invites listeners to explore not just outer space, but the deeper, metaphysical layers of human consciousness.
Kris Vango’s planetary sound series began with the release of Ard (Earth) and Mother Moon (Moon), followed by Venus Ritus/Venus Incantatio in 2020. Each record is designed to explore the characteristics of its respective planet, while simultaneously reflecting Vango’s personal exploration of non-binary identity.
This exploration continues in their latest album, Messenger (Gemini edition), which is part of the broader planetary series. Lifted from Messenger is the hypnotic and experimental “Silent Violet,” a collaboration with SCARPIA -l-l-l—->. Serving up a downtempo, experimental electronic piece cut with dark ambient aesthetics and trip hop rhythms, “Silent Violet” offers a kaleidoscopic soundscape full of shifting beats and instrumentation to deliver a thrilling listening experience.
Flowing from airy synth fluters and the pulse of crisp percussive shots, the enthralling sonic voyage of intricate instrumental textures and layers develops with processed vocal tones. Rattling drums and warbling synths collide as the track glides through a mesmeric yet intense musical scene, delivering a breathtaking display of Kris Vango’s wild creativity and extraordinary sound design flair.
