Delhi-based DJ and producer Karan Dhingra makes music under the House of Tuneman alias and over the last few years has become a leading figure in India’s electronic music scene. Since his debut in 2020, Tuneman has made a significant impact, blending house music with world music influences to create an original and vibrant sound. This fusion of global sounds with electronic beats has helped him forge a unique style that’s connected with fans across India and internationally.
His sonic out is already impressive, with nineteen tracks and multiple collaborations under his belt. His work has attracted attention from major players in the electronic music world, including Nick Warren and Sabo NYC, who were drawn to his track “Forest Humms.” Another highlight of his career came with his 2023 release “Bombay Bustle,” which was featured on VH1 and played on radio stations around the globe.
But Tuneman is not just a producer crafting beats in isolation; he’s also actively contributing to the growth of India’s music scene by linking up with folk musicians from smaller towns. This unique approach of incorporating traditional music into his electronic compositions adds a spontaneous, artistic edge to his live performances. His mission to infuse cultural and traditional sounds into electronic music is both pioneering and reflective of his desire to stay rooted in his heritage while taking the genre forward.
His latest release, a two-track EP titled Rover, offers the perfect showcase of his artistic vision. Released via the global electronic label Café De Anatolia, Rover puts Tuneman’s ability to pair ethnic sounds into electronic landscapes on full display. Café De Anatolia, a label built on the belief that music and spirituality are interconnected, provides the perfect home for his latest work, which channels a spiritual depth through its hypnotic rhythms and cultural textures.

“Moon Chaser” dials back the percussive impact via light pattering rhythms and traditional Indian instruments such as the Bansuri, Tabla and Ghatam, alongside Afro elements like the Djembe and Doshu shakers. Capped by expressive Indian vocal elements, this mix of sounds creates a serene and ethereal atmosphere, amplified by the Swiss handpan and reverb-tinged synths, resulting in a slick window into his genre and culture bridging sound.
Looking ahead, House of Tuneman shows no signs of slowing down.
