We caught up with Hoax (BE) to find out more about his musical journey so far, his new collaborative single “Feel The Love” and what he’s got lined up for the future. Check out our interview with Hoax (BE) below.
Hey Hoax (BE), how are things?
Hello! I’m doing great, thank you. I just got back home after an amazing show in Cairo, Egypt. It was so nice to get some sunshine again!
Whatâs your earliest memory of making music?
It goes back to the big room EDM era with artists like Dvbbs, Martin Garrix, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. I started with that sound, and they were a huge inspiration for me.
Which artists do you draw the most inspiration from?
There are many to choose from, but I would say Arodes, Bun Xapa, Kiko Franco, Nico De Andrea, and Samm (BE).
How else do you find inspiration for your music?
I spent the whole summer based in Ibiza, in between touring. The island has been a huge inspiration for my music. The nature, the soundsâit all has a deep influence on my recent productions.
Whatâs been your highlight of the year so far?
Touring Lebanon for three shows in June. The energy from the people there is unmatched. They know how to make the most of a party and truly live life to the fullest.
What do you love about the Belgian music scene?
Belgium is my home, and itâs known for incredible festivals, which inspired me to become a DJ. That being said, the Belgian music scene is mainly focused on techno or hard house, which isn’t really my vibe. But what I love most is being able to party with my friends.
How has your style and sound evolved since you started?
I started out making disco because it was the most accessible genre for events in Belgium, and I was inspired by classic tracks. Over time, my sound has shifted to house, afro house, and melodic styles. Afro house is where I feel most connected, and itâs the genre I love playing the most.
Has your production process changed over the years?
Definitely. I think itâs natural for anyone who starts producing youngâat 14 in my caseâto evolve. Now, 10 years later, I feel like Iâve really found my sound. I learned a lot from YouTube tutorials and still spend hours improving my craft every day.

Whatâs the perfect setting for listeners to enjoy your sound?
I think my music works in a club, but it can also be enjoyed while working out or driving. Especially my edits, as I try to incorporate famous songs into afro house beats, making it accessible for different settings.
How was it making your new single âFeel The Loveâ? What was it like collaborating with Autograf and sadHAPPY?
The process was fantastic. As with many of my collaborations, we worked remotely since everyone is spread out across the globe. The Autograf guys actually slid into my DMs on Instagram, and that’s how we got started. We had such a great time working together that weâve got a follow-up release planned for the coming months!
What artists have you been listening to recently?
Bun Xapa, Samm (BE), and Tripolism have been on repeat for me lately.
Whatâs the main thing you want people to take away from listening to your music?
I want them to feel something. Whether theyâre hearing it live in a club or streaming it at home, every track I create is designed to evoke emotion. I pour all of myself into my music, and I hope that comes through to the listener.
Youâve played in some exciting cities and venuesâwhat has been your favorite live performance so far?
There are so many to choose from. What I find amazing is how you can tour in different countries with distinct cultures, yet the crowd’s energy is always the same when it comes to music. Ibiza, however, stands out because it brings together people from all over the world.
Who would be your dream festival headliners, and where would it be?
If I could choose three, Iâd go with The Blaze, Black Coffee, and Fred Again. As for the location, Iâd love to host it somewhere in the woods of Ibizaâa perfect blend of nature and music.
Do you have any advice for new artists wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Follow your passion and work hard. Nothing is given to you, and you always need to keep learning and improving. Stay humble, and donât be afraid to dream bigâyour passion can become a career with persistence. There’s no such thing as luck; itâs all about dedication.
Finally, whatâs lined up for the rest of 2024?
Iâve got shows coming up in Switzerland and London soon, along with other places. Itâs hard to believe the year is almost over!
