PREMIERE: Naesia drops debut EP ‘Indecisive’

Originally hailing from Germany and now based in London, Naesia is a twenty-five year old artist who stitches elements of R&B within her fusion of genres and emotionally-charged storytelling. Since her move to the UK in 2018 to study music and pursue her career, she’s become known as an artist whose sound offers smooth vocals, intricate harmonies and soulful vibes, taking influences from R&B, trap, neo-soul and hip hop stylings.

Inspired by artists such as Jhené Aiko, Cleo Sol, Kehlani, Frank Ocean and Bryson Tiller, Naesia blends these influences into a style that’s entirely her own. First unveiling her sound in April 2022 with her debut single “Backseat,” she’s since dropped a string of well-received singles which have earned her recognition from tastemakers like OnesToWatch and WEARESOUL as well as spots on Spotify editorial playlists such as R&B Rising, Fresh Finds UK&IE and R&B Fresh Finds.

Now, Naesia shares her most ambitious release to date, bringing us the premiere of her debut four-track EP titled Indecisive. Taking listening on a sonic voyage through through uncertainty, the project explores themes of indecision, love, identity and various emotions. Written, produced and recorded entirely in her home studio, the EP is an intimate reflection of her personal journey, balancing vulnerability with a stunning musical vision. “This project blends spirituality, emotion, introspection and instinct. It’s about the complexities of love—self-love, love for others, and a love for life itself,” she shares.

“Take Me High” opens the EP with an artistic expression of romantic vulnerability. Combining elements of alternative R&B and neo-soul, the track channels the overwhelming magic of love, offering a shimmering, nostalgic sound that’s dreamy and infectious in equal measure. “Golden” follow with a celebration of life’s joys with an uplifting nod to Jill Scott’s classic. It’s a carefree anthem of spontaneity driven by crisp, rattling percussion and woozy synth textures capped by Naesia’s soulful vocals spinning instantly catchy melodic hooks above.

The EP’s reflective “Indecisive (Interlude),” offers a meditative musical outing, encouraging listeners to ponder the power of mindset and the internal forces that shape our realities. With the elegant plucks of bright instrumentation, Naesia’s graceful vocals shines in a stripped-back setting to offer an enchanting and thoughtful moment EP.

Closing the EP, “Mr. Mysterious” distils the push-and-pull of romantic ambiguity, capturing the allure and frustration of an elusive connection. Wrapped up in a sultry indie R&B soundscape which reflects the tension between intrigue and caution, her silky vocals glide above snapping beats, grooving bass lines and fluttering synths to craft a truly dazzling jam and superb finale to her sensational debut EP.
