London-based artist Striker has been making an impact in the music scene since his early teens, starting out as a DJ and host at just 14 years old. His genre-breaking mixes quickly gained traction, racking up over six million streams worldwide and securing multiple #1 and Top 10 placements on SoundCloud.
His ability to blend styles and craft exciting musical fusions earned him a reputation as a visionary artist and a must-watch name in the UK music sphere. In 2020, Striker made his official debut as a recording artist with the single “BAD,” marking the beginning of his transition from DJing into music production. Expanding his influence beyond his own releases, he’s worked in A&R and artist management, further confirming his place in the industry while his sharp ear for emerging talent and his instinct for curating sounds that connect globally have made him a key figure in the underground electronic music landscape.
Now, in 2025, Striker takes another thrilling step forward with his debut EP titled Tribal Essence, released under his own imprint, Tru Sound Records. A five-track journey through Afro house, the project highlights his fusion of tribal percussion, hypnotic grooves and euphoric melodic writing. Blending organic textures with modern electronic production, Tribal Essence showcases his knack for bridging cultures and sounds, offering a fresh take on modern house music.
Opened by lead single “Anaya,” the splash of cymbal brings in an intricate groove of pulsing synth and subtly grooving bassline, setting up a trance-inducing sound before the track jumps with big bass textures and punching rhythms. Led by a moody lead synth line and cut with stretching atmospheric tones, the track flows through kaleidoscopic switch ups where hazy female vocal samples and gritty synth stabs craft a brooding soundscape that introduces Striker’s new sound in spectacular fashion.
Next up, “Cula” presents the gentle rattle of buzzy synth elements and percussion before the sweep of texture brings in hushed vocal samples. Building up the energy with rolling drums, the track glides with bold bouncing rhythms and zapping synths, bending between hypnotic rhythms and the soulful vocal elements to deliver an engaging sound from start to finish.
“Parti” blends spacey vocal textures, delicate synth shots and the march of shuffling drums to form an incredible dance music experience that’s at once dreamy and energising. Peppered with shifting vocal samples and the angular timbre of stuttered synth lines, it’s an exquisite showcase of Striker’s creativity and sound design flair. With “Art of War,” silky vocal tones drift above the thump of kick and groove of bassline, casting a minimal scene before impactful instrumental stabs and lively vocal shots collide to take the track into a dark sound of brooding melodic structure and steady rhythms.
Closing the EP with “Back Up,” the contrast of smooth instrumental textures and spliced vocal rhythms progresses with immersive arrangement and stomping beats. With deft synth work and pitched vocal elements, the track serves up a stellar finale to Striker’s exceptional debut EP. Opening a thrilling new chapter with this superb new release, Striker is sure to win over dance music fans around the world with his creative vision and production talent.
