Bino Bames is an artist shaped by contrast; raised in the neon glow and harsh realities of Las Vegas, he has forged a sound that fuses emotion with a cinematic sense of storytelling. A half-Filipino, half-American outsider, Bino draws from a wide spectrum of influences, including Syd Barrett, Elliott Smith, Daniel Johnston and Mac Miller. His music exists at the crossroads of the underground and the pop mainstream, balancing nostalgia, drama and an uncompromising perspective.
Growing up in a city where billion-dollar casinos stand alongside poverty and addiction, Bino developed a deep appreciation for both survival and showmanship. Leaving home at 15, he wandered through New York, Los Angeles and Portland, immersing himself in underground scenes that helped develop his artistic vision. Now based in London, he’s arrived as an exciting new voice with music that reflects both his experiences and the contradictions of his upbringing.
Beyond his music, Bino has also made an impact in fashion, recently being dressed by SONGZIO and Undercover for Milan and Paris Fashion Week 2024. His presence at London Fashion Week 2025 for Mark Fast further confirmed his status as a tastemaker, proving that his artistic reach goes beyond just sound.
Now making his official artistic entrance, Bino makes his debut with “Cocktail Princess,” a moody yet instantly catchy slice of indie rock. Set up by his emotive vocal leads drifting above soft guitar notes, an airy atmosphere is met by the steady patter of drums and strums of guitar chords as he threads brooding melodic lines above.
Launching into an anthemic chorus where infectious vocal hooks collide with driving instrumentation, it’s a spectacular burst of musical energy that distils a timeless sound for a modern audience. Cut with bright organ dashes and carried by slick ebb and flow, the bridge lays down a passage of hushed vocals and dreamy arrangement before the rolling shuffle of drums sets up a gripping finale where biting guitar leads glide alongside his soaring vocals.
The accompanying music video, directed by Bino himself, offers an intimate window into his world. Shot on the streets of Las Vegas using his VX1000 camcorder, the visuals capture the essence of his youth where motorbikes, skateparks and late-night city rides are framed with the lo-fi grit of personal nostalgia. It’s a sensational first offering from a thrilling new act with a compelling sound who’s sure to win over fans around the world.
