Tunde Fisher is a Nigerian Afrobeat artist known for his smooth music. He recently released a new song titled “Don’t Ever Rush,” featuring Markwizzy. The song is a smooth, soft Afrobeat track about mental health and taking life one step at a time. Just as the title suggests, the message from this song is never to rush life and to take things easy.
A 2 minute and 30 seconds song, the impact can be felt almost instantly as the artist delivers the message right at the beginning of the track. Following the repeated chorus of “Don’t Ever Rush,” Fisher went in with a verse talking about his hustle and hard work to be a success.
Markwizzy delivered a great verse that complemented Tunde Fisher’s vocals and the theme of the song. Singing alongside the theme, Markwizzy, though given a short time on the track was able to deliver a flow that blends perfectly into the song.

The production is good, blending a mix of R&B and Afrobeat percussion, deviating the sound a bit from the standard Afrobeat feel. The piano laid over the beat creates a perfect mood for reflection. This is a really good choice of beat for this kind of music, with this kind of message. I can listen over and over again. The song is mellow, soft, and relaxing. It can easily put any listener in a relaxed mood at first listen.
Born Olalekan Akintunde Akinola in Abeokuta, Nigeria, Tunde Fisher holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a Master’s in Data Science. He readily applies his skills to his music and marketing. Tunde Fisher is a brilliant artist. Having previously released brilliant songs like Ginger, featuring Abigail Asante, it’s no surprise that his new song “Don’t Ever Rush” is receiving the love and positive reception it’s getting.
The song comes at a perfect time as a message to African immigrants in foreign countries. It’s easy to become depressed due to excessive worries and pressures, both at home and abroad. The pressure to succeed, to make our parents proud. this pressure has pushed many into doing things they shouldn’t have done, things that have now cost them either their peace or their freedom. This is a great message to everyone to take things easy. Slow down, Don’t rush. just as part of the song lyrics say.
The song, however brilliant, lacks the deep lyrics that would perfectly match the theme. At times, the lyrics are repetitive and can begin to feel tiring. Luckily, the sweet vocals and the instrumentals are so brilliantly done that they save listeners from getting bored easily.
The song is rated a solid 8/10.
