From Perth to Los Angeles, Adelina has been on a thrilling adventure in the modern pop landscape, bringing with her a sound that’s commanding and thoroughly intoxicating. With origins in Kosovo and Albanian heritage, she draws from a varied cultural background while striding forward with a vision that feels entirely her own. A performer since her earliest years, her natural passion for singing and performing has blossomed into a career defined by magnetic energy and a growing catalogue of infectious tracks.
On stage, Adelina carries the type of charisma that makes audiences lean in closer and on record, she distills her own experiences into music that connects with honesty and emotional bite. Her first studio release arrived with her debut single “Bye Bye Bye” in 2018, a first step that showcased her talent and hinted at bigger things to come. Over the years, she’s stayed consistent with a steady run of singles, shaping her voice and artistic identity with each release.
The breakthrough moment arrived in 2022 with “Out Of Love,” a track that captured her knack for balancing emotional storytelling with instantly memorable hooks, marking her as one to watch and opened the door to an even wider audience. Since then, Adelina’s momentum has only accelerated and last year saw her hit her stride with a trio of hit tracks that each brought something new to her sound. Along the way, she linked up with Icelandic producer Audur Luthersson in Los Angeles, a partnership that would become central to her developing sonic output.
Once again collaborating with Luthersson as well as UK producer Two Swords, Adelina now brings us her latest release with her brand new single titled “Overkill,” venturing into a darker, more cinematic sphere. Recorded in downtown Los Angeles, channeling the city’s energy into a song that burns with intensity, “Overkill “dives headfirst into themes of betrayal, revenge and empowerment. The lyrics capture a shift in perspective, tracing the transformation from pain to uncompromising strength; the story of someone who’s endured too much and finally chooses to embrace the role of the villain.
Framing a femme fatale scene, the track starts with the dreamy flutter of elegant acoustic guitar and clean lead notes as Adelina’s sultry voice glides in to cast enticing melodies as the rattling snap of the beat injects a smooth groove. Jumping with deep bass textures which contrast the intricate tones and Latin vibes of the organic instrumentation, Adelina slips into silky rapped flow to forge a dark and brooding alternative pop soundscape brimming with gripping atmosphere and catchy melodic lines.
At once immersive and stripped back, the exquisite production results in a truly impactful sound that sees Adelina continue to operate at the very highest level with a hypnotic and moody pop offering. As she continues to build on her momentum, Adelina is proving herself to be one of the most exciting voices rising out of Perth’s music scene, with an eye set firmly on the global stage.
