Coming out of London’s music scene with adventurous creativity and magnetic charm, newcomer Victor Longato arrives as a dazzling new voice in the alternative pop sphere. A queer, neurodivergent Brazilian-Trinidadian artist and Brit School alum, he fuses the wide appeal of pop with slick R&B and K-pop vibes into something futuristic and fiercely original. His music reflects both emotion and power, exploring how human flaws morph and intensify against the backdrop of an increasingly digital world.
Having already performed on The Rainbow Stage at the British Summer Time Festival for its 10th anniversary and clocked tens of thousands of social media views within just weeks, Victor is fast becoming one of London’s most compelling new exports. A member of two creative collectives, STXRM and Blending In Badly, he shines in collaboration, drawing energy from the city’s underground and the intersection of its cultures.
For an artist who’s always existed between worlds, it makes sense that his sound feels so borderless, offering a digital collage of movement, emotion and identity. Now, with his presence growing, Victor unveils his debut single titled “Freaked,” a slick and exciting introduction to his highly unique sonic vision. The track distils the contrasting elements that drive his songwriting, switching between intimacy and performance, heartbreak and empowerment, human warmth and crisp electronic aesthetic.

Revolving around a Jersey Club-inspired rhythm and driven by infectious pop melodies, “Freaked” captures the disorienting energy of being ghosted in the digital age. It’s a theme that feels at once personal and relatable, presenting the soundtrack for the chronically online, where connection is constant but understanding is elusive. Victor turns the brittle nature of digital disconnection into a danceable musical moment, his voice gliding over the beat with both swagger and emotion.
Opened by the airy flicker of plucked instrumental tones as Victor’s vocalisations and pitched vocal shots float around the atmospheric arrangement, the energy swells as the beat drops to bring the track into sharp focus. Capped by his soulful vocal leads and bursts of colourful synth textures, the track flows with engaging groove and sultry alternative R&B vibes. Gathering pace with the shuffle of punchy Jersey club rhythms, the intricate flashes of staccato instrumentation flutters around his voice to craft an enthralling pop music experience from start to finish.
Packed full of instantly memorable melodic writing and captured in an epic soundscape brimming with twists and turns, “Freaked” sees Victor Longato make a spectacular entrance with the first showcase of his incredible studio sound. As he continues to impress on what’s sure to be his breakout year and with his forthcoming debut EP Sensory Overload on the way, Victor Longato is set to win over countless fans across the UK and beyond with his compelling sonic output.
We caught up with Victor Longato to find out more about his musical journey so far, his debut single “Freaked” and what he’s got lined up for the future. Check out our interview with Victor Longato below.
What’s your earliest memory of making music?
I started writing music during lockdown on my sister’s old keyboard, and I had free music lessons while attending the BRIT School which really ignited my passion for songwriting. I also went to music courses on Eventbrite, Roundhouse drop ins, and just kept developing from there.
Which artists do you draw most inspiration from?
I’m inspired by songwriters like Max Martin for his structural work and melodic maths. I also love Jessie J and Victoria Monét for their sassy, anthemic songwriting styles.
How else do you find inspiration for your music?
My music tells personal stories set in futuristic dystopian worlds, echoing shows like Black Mirror, Humans, and Altered Carbon. I explore how human flaws get amplified in digital contexts and often use dual narratives, looking at situations from both the perpetrator and the victim.
What’s been your highlight of 2025?
My highlight was having my song Freaked played on Brazilian radio on Capela FM. My mum is from Brazil so it was a big moment for me and my family.
What do you love about the London music scenes?
I love how eclectic it is. There is space for everyone, and as a queer person I feel there are places where my music is embraced and I’m seen not just for my sexuality but for my talent.
What would you say is the perfect setting for listeners to enjoy your sound?
It is great for clubs and raves because of the high energy beats, but it also works for a morning tube commute which is how I love to listen to music.
How has your own style and sound evolved since you started out?
My early style was more contemporary and restrained. Working with my manager and being part of Blending In Badly, a London based collective, they helped me understand world building and how to represent my personality in my artistry. Through exploring references and who I am, my sound has become more upbeat, sassy, futuristic, and much more defined.
Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
Beyoncé, Beyoncé, Beyoncé. Writing for her, working with her, or just being in the room would be incredible. I respect her artistry, creativity, and business acumen so much. I would also love to collaborate with Raye because her versatility and wide range of influences would make working with her so eye opening.
How did you find making your new debut single Freaked?
I originally wrote it with Rian Cult, Ally Ambrose, and Libby Akerman for a K Pop artist, but it was not pursued. About a year later, Rian asked if I wanted to move forward with it myself, and I absolutely did. He has been amazing with the production and mastering. I felt it would be a strong introduction to me both sonically and lyrically.
What message did you want to get across with this release?
Freaked is an upbeat Pop R&B Jersey Club inspired anthem about ghosting, something I have experienced a lot especially in the LGBTQIA plus dating scene. Because of a history of being ignored, I overthink when people do not pick up the phone. I wanted to create a song that empowers people who think this way. As someone with an anxiety disorder, there is stigma and shame attached to it, but maybe your mind just moves at a faster BPM.
What artists have you been listening to most recently?
I love girl groups, so 3Quency and Katseye have been doing it for me. I am also loving Faouzia and Revê who are making really cool sassy pop music that I connect with.
What is the main thing you want people to get out of listening to your music?
I want people to feel good and energised, and hopefully take away some perspective from the lyrics and world building. I explore the future and what human flaws look like in an amplified futuristic context, encouraging people to reflect on that. Great art inspires thought and debate.
What has been your favourite live performance so far?
My favourite performance has been playing the ten year anniversary on the Rainbow Stage at British Summertime Festival. Working with the incredible sound team and seeing my name on a big festival stage was exhilarating despite the rain and bad weather.
Who would be three artists to headline your dream festival? And where would it be?
Flo, Anitta, and Zara Larsson. They are each having major moments internationally, and seeing them together would be a mother off for the ages.
Do you have any advice for a new artist wanting to follow your footsteps?
Write down all your references such as childhood shows, worlds you built in games like Minecraft or The Sims, drawings, and films you love. Use that self research to build your artistic world. World building is underrated and more artists should use it as part of their USP. The best advice I ever got was to build a team around you, writers, producers, and creatives you can grow with.
Finally, what do you have lined up next?
Keep an eye out for my debut EP Sensory Overload, set for release in April 2026 and led by the next single Heatwave.
