Hailing from New York City, Quarters, formerly known as Quarters of Change, are a band that’s in a constant state of motion. Formed by Benjamin Orlen Roter, Jasper Gee Harris and Attila Lee Anather, the trio has grown from high school dreamers sneaking into classrooms after hours to one of the most exciting live acts in today’s rock scene. Their chemistry, forged in friendship and creative trust, forms the bedrock of a sound that’s equal parts anthemic and intimately emotive.
From their earliest gigs in New York basements to playing alongside some of modern rock’s most recognisable names, over the last few years, they’ve toured with Two Door Cinema Club, Bad Suns and The Band Camino, bringing their magnetic live energy to audiences around the world. Their performances are cut with slick guitar solos, punchy drum fills and gripping vocals, earning them a reputation as a must-see live band that leaves audiences exhilarated and wanting more.
Now, as they prepare to embark on a UK and EU tour supporting The Band Camino before launching their own world headline run, Quarters are set to play two consecutive sold-out shows at New York’s iconic Irving Plaza. But even as their stages get bigger, the band remains deeply focused on the sonic output, the chemistry and the development of their sound. Their upcoming third album, set to drop in March next year via Warner Music Group/Sparta, will feature collaborations with Imad Royal, David Bottrill and Aldn.
“When we sat down to make this record, two years had passed, and the foundation of our band was being tested. We traveled the world, revisited old ideas, and thoughtfully repurposed them. What we ended up with was the bones of what came before, but the shine of something brand new,” Jasper explains.
Frontman Ben Roter adds, “And we did it all alongside the history of Vienna, the lakes of South Carolina, and the push and pull of New York and LA. We’re putting everything on the line to be the band we’ve always wanted to be. For the first time ever, there are no distractions. We have complete trust in ourselves.”
The first taste of their upcoming LP comes with their brand new single titled “STAR,” a track which marks a shift in direction and a move away from their indie origins toward a fully cinematic rock sound. Set up by the crisp snap of drums, Ben’s emotive vocals glide in as the flutter of plucked guitar notes swirl around his voice. Casting a thoroughly moving soundscape that progresses with intricate ebb and flow, the chorus surges with stunning hooks and atmospheric instrumentation.
Carried by the steady patter of drums, the energy builds throughout to craft an epic rock listening experience brimming with impassioned vocal performance and instantly memorable melodic songwriting. It’s a spectacular outing from a band that continues to go from strength to strength with each move and with their highly anticipated new album on the way, they’re showing no signs of slowing down on their thrilling musical adventure.
