Zeb Wayne is a third-generation musician born and raised in London who grew up surrounded by instruments, cables and the buzz of recording studios that never seemed to sleep. His earliest memories aren’t of quiet mornings or playground noise but of late-night sessions, where experimentation was the norm and genre meant little. That upbringing gave him an instinct for sound, leading to an exciting musical adventure that’s seen him go from strength to strength with each move.
By the time he hit his teens, Zeb had found his own sonic vision within the electronic underground sphere of London. The pirate radio stations and DIY club nights became his classrooms and the dancefloor his testing ground where each transition between tracks became a lesson in tension and release and every mistake turned into something useful.
From those makeshift beginnings, he graduated to residencies at some of London’s most respected venues, then built his own nights that grew from small, sweaty basements into warehouse raves and festival stages. In the studio, Zeb developed a sonic output that draws from the UK’s pioneering heritage of house and garage, cut with the reflection of modern electronica. It’s music built for both sides of the night, the chaos and the calm that follows and over the years, his releases on labels like Rekids, Southern Fried and Nervous Records have earned a loyal following across the UK and beyond.
His production work and commissions for artists and brands have only expanded that output, proving his ability to bring together mood, melody and rhythm with pure sonic panache. Now, Zeb Wayne steps into a new chapter with WiP, his freshly launched label, forming both a creative sanctuary and a statement of artistic intent that distils the ideas that music doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful and that true creativity lives in the process. It’s here that he releases his latest single titled “ooh, my soul,” a soulful electronic groover packed full of deep low end energy, bright instrumentation and infectious melodic moments.
Revolving around a minimal yet potent vocal hook, “ooh, my soul” ripples with warmth and uplifting musical aesthetic. Its rhythm is alive, with slick percussion and basslines slicing through jazzy chords and house grooves that nod to both his origins and his home city’s future. Smooth vocal samples, pulsing kicks and colourful arrangement all melt into an intoxicating dance music cocktail that serves up an energising and truly euphoric listening experience from start to finish.
Bright bursts of shimmering textures, bouncy piano stabs and spliced vocalisations float above the ever-present shuffle of drums to cast a spectacular musical moment that’s sure to light up dancefloors and airwaves across the UK and beyond. After decades of artistic exploration, Zeb Wayne remains what he’s always been, a sound architect with heart, building connections between the underground and the emotional, between legacy and cutting edge sound.
