Venezuelan DJ and producer Isaac José Velázquez Moreno, known by his stage name Speaker Boy, has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting new names in electronic music. Blending the energy of house with the emotional lift of future bass and the intensity of drum and bass, techno and EDM stylyes, his sound is entirely his own.
Operating between the studio and the stage, Speaker Boy’s career has already seen multiple impressive milestones. His work has caught the attention of some of the industry’s leading tastemakers, with outlets such as We Rave You, EHN Network and Billboard all praising him as a rising artist with serious potential and originality, capable of bringing something new to the future of electronic music. His growing profile has also been strengthened by releases through major global labels including Warner Music Group, Spinnin’ Records, AWAL Recordings and Sony Music Entertainment, confirming his status as a talent already shining on an international scale.
In 2023, Speaker Boy took the independent route, founding his own label, Y12 Records, as a home not only for his own releases but also as a launchpad for other up-and-coming producers. Working with global distributor Symphonic Distribution, Y12 Records reflects his mission of giving back to the community that shaped him, an artist creating infrastructure for the next generation of creators.
Now, Speaker Boy continues his ascent with his brand new single titled “Zermatt,” a track that captures both the vastness of nature and the intimacy of emotion. Inspired by the Swiss Alps and the dramatic presence of the Matterhorn, “Zermatt” serves up a sonic journey through memory, dreams and atmosphere. Its construction is deliberately cinematic, immersive synths glide above minimalist percussion, while stacked layers of sound mimic the quiet immensity of snow and sky.
Two months after composing the track, Speaker Boy dreamt he was standing before the Matterhorn itself. “It was a vivid dream,” he explains. “I dreamed I was in a supermarket. I wanted a cigarette. I went outside to smoke. When I lit the cigarette and looked up, there it was, the Matterhorn. It was barely visible at first, but the fog dispersed and I saw it. Then a blonde, white, German-featured woman asked me if it was my first time. I said yes, and she offered to give me a tour of the Matterhorn. When I woke up, I started crying. It was realistic.”

That subconscious connection between imagination and geography, between sound and vision, seems to define the track. Propelled by the steady punch of kick and deep rumble of low end textures, the track glides with the crisp snap of hi hat as the rolling stutter of bright synth tones forms a truly hypnotic listening experience unlike any other. “Zermatt” has already been featured on some of the most influential dance stations in the world, including KISS FM UK, Tomorrowland One World Radio and Amazing Radio UK, where it was highlighted on their Amazing Dance channel.
Speaker Boy’s music feels like a meeting point between the natural world and the synthetic one, between technology and soul, where every track becomes a bridge from dream to reality, from sound to sensation. With “Zermatt,” he’s delivered an emphatic statement about where modern electronic music can go and the view from the summit looks spectacular.
