LANNDS have always existed slightly out of step with the world around them and that’s exactly where their creative brilliance lies. Formed in Jacksonville, Florida and now based in Los Angeles, the alternative electronic psychedelic duo have spent the last decade building an ecosystem of sound that feels as cinematic as it does human. Since unveiling their debut single “Still” back in 2016, they’ve blossomed into one of the most compelling projects in the modern indie music sphere by walking a path paved by curiosity, emotion and adventurous experimentation.
Across multiple EPs, remixes and their debut full-length record Music for the Future, released in 2023, LANNDS have created a sonic language that flickers between genres and styles to forge a sound unlike any other. Their music moves between warm synth atmospheres and hazy, organic textures, always tethered a feeling of intimacy that grounds the surreal. That emotional context has struck a chord with audiences worldwide, earning them millions of streams, critical recognition from NPR Music and a spotlight on Spotify’s Fresh Finds.
On stage, their sound expands into something immersive and transportive, with tours alongside Washed Out, Kerala Dust, TENDER and Runnner proving just how adaptable their music can be. But while Music for the Future captured the band’s widescreen ambitions, their latest chapter is arriving with their upcoming EP If The Door Closes, led by the brand new single titled “Is There Any More to This?,” marking a moment of reflection via an exploration of loss, distance and renewal.

It’s the sound of a band hitting pause, taking stock and rediscovering what drives them; the creative spark for the EP came during a period of reset. After years immersed in the fast pace of Los Angeles, the band retreated to Joshua Tree for a week away from the noise, the deadlines and the buzz of city life. In that vast stillness of the desert landscape, the feeling of being simultaneously small and infinite shaped the record’s tone and If The Door Closes distils the result of that experience into an intimate, spacious body of work.
With “Is There Any More to This?,” the pair serves up a stunning display of their wildly creative sound, blending smokey trip hop aesthetic with slick indie electronic grooves to form a memorable and wholly immersive listening experience. Jumping straight in with the rattle of punchy beats and crunch of metallic guitar tones, the subtle bloop of synth flashes and spacey vocalisations are met by the rumble of pulse bass lines to cast a truly hypnotic soundscape.
Flowing with stuttered vocal lines, intricate arrangement shifts and enveloping sonic atmosphere, “Is There Any More to This?” lays down an engrossing sound that’s experimental and accessible in equal measure. With their highly anticipated EP If The Door Closes set to drop in April, we can’t wait to see what LANNDS has in store for the rest of 2026 and beyond.
