Helsinki-based artist Sameli has earned a reputation as one of Finland’s most innovative acts as a singer, songwriter and producer whose music exists somewhere between reflection and rebellion. His sound flows across the melodic appeal of indie pop, the impact of rap, the poetic lyricism of folk rock and the energy of electronic production. But beneath all the sonic experimentation lies a curiosity about what it means to be human which sees Sameli explore the emotional turbulence of modern life through the lens of identity and determination while searching for serenity amid the noise.
Sameli’s music has always carried a sense of autonomy and intent; he writes and produces everything himself, building songs from the ground up in a process that’s equal parts experimentation and creatively expressive. That independence gives his work a unique kind of freedom, a straight forward philosophy that ripples throughout his artistic output.
He first unveiled his sonic vision in 2017 with his debut album No Minä Tietysti, a record that introduced his highly original musical vision. Across a trio of singles that followed, he continued to develop his sound by balancing catchy hooks with deeper reflections on life from his own perspective and the pressures of living in an individualistic world.

After a brief hiatus, he returns now with “Kameli,” a brand new track that might have started as a joke but blossomed into one of his most personal and compelling works thus far. Ultimately, “Kameli” is a song about transformation, about turning what was meant to hurt you into something that makes you stronger and that story began with a simple jingle, a throwaway idea that grew unexpectedly into a full song. The title translates to “Camel” and what began as a light-hearted reference quickly took on symbolic weight, becominga metaphor for endurance, quiet strength and the power of reclaiming labels.
The track rolls up to the industrial edges of Sameli’s sound, a place where gritty guitars and live bass collide with pulsing synths and textured beats. The contrast between the organic and the digital mirrors the song’s emotional journey, moments of tension giving way to collapse and collapse giving way to reconstruction. Flowing from airy instrumental textures and vocal stabs of “Sameli Kameli,” the ethereal swirl of bright synth tones float above the laid back rattle of percussion to form an immersive listening expeirence.
Developing with the intricate crunch of guitar lines, the track gathers pace to craft a wholly absorbing soundscape that glides with spacey instrumentation and mesmeric melodic flickers. It’s an epic showcase of Sameli’s wildly original sonic offering, marking his return in emphatic fashion with a superb new single that’s sure to win over new and existing fans all over the world.
