London-based artist Stefan Lalchev has spent his life chasing the purest form of connection through music, words and the disarming honesty that runs between them. A British-Bulgarian singer-songwriter with a flair for cinematic pop and emotional storytelling, his journey has been one of constant development and endurance, marked by moments of triumph, reinvention and a steadfast determination that’s shaped him into one of the most promising new voices in the UK’s pop music sphere.
His relationship with performance began when he was just five years old and already stepping into the spotlight, performing before more than 2,000 people, an astonishing debut for a child whose voice seemed destined for bigger stages. By his teenage years, he was not only appearing in live and televised broadcasts but also publishing his first book of poetry, an early sign of the pensive reflection and poignant context that would later echo throughout his songwriting.
A major turning point came when he entered the first Bulgarian season of Pop Idol, where he finished in fourth place, an experience that thrust him into the national spotlight, leading to tours and performances across major stages. But more importantly, it gave him a taste of what it meant to connect with an audience on a profound, human level and that early success confirmed his ambition to pursue an international career. Relocating to London, he started sharing his original sonic vision, offering songs that often orbit themes of longing, hope and determination.

Now, following a brief hiatus from sharing his sound, Stefan returns with his brand new single titled “Won’t Let Go,” a Valentine’s-timed power ballad that distils the ache and beauty of unspoken love. Produced by Jamie Sellers, whose credits include work with Elton John and Ed Sheeran and mastered by Mike Hillier, known for his work with Cian Ducrot and Bastille, the track captures Stefan’s knack for blending intimacy with grandeur.
Revolving around swelling instrumentation and a soaring vocal performance, “Won’t Let Go” thematically explores the perseverance of loving in silence and the strength it takes to hope when love feels unreachable. Gently drifting into focus, the arrangement jumps with Stefan’s emotive vocals and the subtly hurried energy of staccato string notes before gradually swelling with bright instrumental plucks and silky melodic leads.
Flowing with stunning hooks delivered by dazzling vocal performance and driven by the patter of punchy percussion “Won’t Let Go” sees Stefan Lalchev mark his return in emphatic fashion with a spectacular new single. Putting his songwriting talent and performance panache on full display, “Won’t Let Go” delivers a magical musical moment that’s truly impossible not to love. It’s no surprise then that the track has already earned critical acclaim, being named Record of the Day by the respected British industry publication of the same name and it’s sure to charm countless fans around the world.
