Based in Birmingham in the UK, BLAGODAT’ arrives not as a product of a single discipline but as the sum of many and his path into music didn’t begin with one identity, but with movement between them; bassist, keyboardist, guitarist, vocalist, shifting through roles in local bands as a session musician. That background now becomes the starting point for something more focused and at a certain point, the question stops being what he can contribute to other people’s projects and becomes something else entirely.
BLAGODAT’ is the answer to that question, a project built on self-sufficiency and experimentation, it reflects a desire to create without compromise, where songwriting and production are handled by the same pair of hands. The influence of artists like Loqiemean, Pyrokinesis and Noize MC feed into his adventurous sonic vision while modern metal, EDM, J-pop and hip hop all inform a process that favours creative risks over playing it safe.
Now marking the start of his solo artist voyage, his debut single titled “Yama” is the first clear articulation of his creative mission. Three years of learning, experimenting and reflecting are compressed into a track that’s deliberately simple in structure but unsettled in execution. The process of immigrating from his home country, triggered by a drastic shift in the socio-political climate, provides the thematic backdrop for the track.

Alongside it comes the loss of proximity to friends and family, a gradual thinning of connection that leaves behind a sense of isolation. The track moves through themes of loneliness, coping and the friction of existing within a reality that doesn’t feel stable. The blending of genres mirrors that instability, industrial metal textures pressing against electronic elements, progressive structures meeting hip hop influences.
Slowly drifting into focus with the bubble of stuttering synths, hazy instrumental tones and hushed vocals floating above the steady rustle of drums, the track casts an immersive scene that’s hypnotic and eerie in equal measure. Surging with crunching guitar textures, contrasted by bright chiming tones, his belted vocals ring out with impassioned delivery as crashing drums splash around his commanding voice.
With slick mood switch ups and a wholly absorbing atmosphere, “Yama” sees BLAGODAT’ make a spectacular entrance as a must watch artist on the rise. It’s an incredible display of the artist’s wildly original sound, offering a truly anthemic and utterly engrossing listening experience from start to finish. The next step moves out of the studio and into a live setting, BLAGODAT’s first performance is set for the BIMM LIVE festival in May, where he’s sure to win over countless new fans from the stage.
