CLANDESTINA is a Swedish rapper and singer-songwriter whomoves between cities, cultures and ideas with a sense of curiosity that shapes every part of her creative identity. Born in Stockholm and now living between Paris and Barcelona, she approaches songwriting from the perspective of a global citizen, drawing on travel, activism and multilingual storytelling to build a voice that crosses borders as easily as it crosses genres.
Her earliest experiences with music began in Sweden, where she grew up connected to several regions including Uppsala and Hälsingland. Rhythm arrived early in her life when she began playing drums at the age of twelve and music was already present within her family environment, where songwriting often served as a way to mark personal milestones. Without formal training, she built her sonic talents through more than a decade of independent songwriting, experimenting with language and rhythm while developing a distinct lyrical style.
Alongside music, she nurtured a strong interest in languages, becoming fluent in several while continuing to study French, Hindi and Arabic. This fascination with communication naturally found its way into her music, where multiple languages often coexist within the same track. Her journey into the rap scene officially began in 2025 in Barcelona through the collaboration Jamas Khalas alongside local artist Yuyu Bala, introducing listeners to CLANDESTINA’s blend of rap and singing across languages while pairing heavy beats with reflective lyricism.
Travel has played a major role in shaping that perspective, spending time in cities and countries around the world, including Berlin, Colombia and Cuba. Her background in development studies and international relations reinforces her unique outlook and long before releasing music, she was involved in conversations about social change and international dialogue, including speaking engagements at a United Nations conference and the World Expo.

All of these elements converge in her debut EP titled Politically Erect, a release created while living and performing between Paris and Barcelona. The project acts as a bold introduction to her artistic identity; combining rap, singing and spoken word, the EP moves through topics such as identity, politics and personal reflection, examining how global issues intersect with individual experience.
The songs approach these subjects through layered storytelling rather than direct commentary. Opening track “Don’t Quit” explores power dynamics, violence and systemic oppression, while |Man Made” looks at male sexuality, vulnerability and hookup culture with a compassionate perspective. On “Hymns to the Child I Love,” a short a cappella piece, CLANDESTINA reflects on intimacy and heartbreak that extends beyond personal experience into broader emotional sphere. Other moments expand the EP’s philosophical reach such as “Soldiers,” which presents a spoken word exploration of violent masculinity, attempting to understand behaviours that often appear incomprehensible.
“Bigger Than Paris” was written in response to the COP26 climate summit, addressing climate change and the idea of shared global responsibility. The EP concludes with “Landet Istid,” translated as Ice Age Land, a remastered version of her first Swedish-language song. Set against Spanish rhythmic influences, the track contrasts the imagery of a cold northern homeland with reflections on feminism, religion, sexual identity and the complexities of Swedish identity in a globalised world.
While Politically Erect centres on rap and rhythmic intensity, CLANDESTINA is already looking ahead and her planned full-length album in 2026 will explore softer, folk-inspired sounds while continuing to prioritise lyrical impact. For an artist driven by curiosity and cultural dialogue, that adventure feels like a natural continuation of a journey that began with a drumbeat in Stockholm and now stretches across continents.
