A new force sharking up the UK’s experimental electronic underground, D3PRT is an artist who seems to operate in the space between opposing forces. Rhythm and stillness, structure and collapse, noise and silence all overlap in the project’s sound to form a musical identity that feels intricate and deeply immersive, landing in the darker corners of dubstep, breaks and garage while avoiding many of the obvious tropes of club-focused production.
This year, the project has arrived wrapped in an anonymity that allows the music itself to the talking; the absence of a defined persona creates a space where the listener is left alone with the sound. That sound exists somewhere between club culture and reflective listening and while the music takes cues from bass-driven electronic styles, it rarely leans into the explosive moments that dominate much of the genre. The tracks instead hover in the moments after impact, where basslines breathe slowly and subtle rhythmic shifts carry the momentum forward.
This approach gives the music a strangely meditative quality, even when the low-end pulses with force, the overall atmosphere feels contemplative rather than aggressive. The project first introduced that aesthetic through the debut single “You Will Never Know,” revealing how a track could feel powerful without overwhelming the listener. The momentum continued soon after with the follow-up release “FrGrry,” building on the D3PRT sonic sphere while unveiling new sides to the project’s sound.

Now D3PRT returns with a brand new single titled “Ten,” a track that takes the project’s sonic language into heavier areas. While the meditative undercurrent remains, the energy is more impactful this time around, blending breakbeats with deep dubstep low-end and a swing drawn from garage, creating a rhythm that feels equally fluid and powerful. At the centre of “Ten” is an aggressive MC sample that injects commanding vocal energy into the composition, adding a sense of exhilaration and lyrical context to D3PRT’s sonic offering.
Slipping the listener into a dreamy soporific state with airy key tones, the arrangements swells with wobbly synth elements, punching percussion and slick rapped flows while the track drifts through a moment of stripped back bliss. Jumping with sweeping bass energy and shuffling beats, spliced vocal chops add rhythmic shots to the track, forming a thrilling electronic soundscape packed full of relentless beat-driven momentum and melodic flashes.
With rhythmic switch ups and smooth ebb and flow between musical energies and moods, “Ten” presents a wild sonic voyage that’s gripping and thoroughly original from start to finish. As D3PRT continues to impress while sharing incredible electronic music, we can’t wait to see what comes next after a sensational start to their musical journey.
