Over the years, London-based singer-songwriter David Goundry has been making an impression by drawing on the enduring spirit of the analogue era. Inspired by the greats of the 1960s and 1970s, his music channels the warmth, character and emotional candour that defined those decades while shaping it into something that feels relevant for today’s audience. At the centre of his work is a strong sense of storytelling, with songs that balance classic rock sensibilities and modern pop appeal. The result is a sound that carries the nostalgia of another time while remaining grounded in the present.
Before re-establishing himself as an artist, he spent ten years living in Italy, a period that placed him far from the music scene and the creative world he had once pursued. It was a major life shift that eventually brought him back; his divorce in 2017 became the pivotal moment that reignited his creative drive, encouraging him to return to songwriting, performing and recording. That chapter properly began in 2021 when David unveiled his debut single “Fire and Water,” marking the first official showcase of his sound.
Shortly afterwards he released his first EP, Time and Place, alongside two additional singles that further introduced listeners to his songwriting output. The EP received airplay on more than two hundred radio stations across the world, including BBC Radio and Planet Rock, as well as stations throughout the USA, Australia and Europe. Momentum continued to build in the years that followed and in 2024 he released his full-length album Glazbury Road, a record that expanded on the musical identity he’d been developing since his debut.

Now Dvid Goundry revisits that record with a new version of one of its song with “Lucy (Remix 2026)” arriving as the latest release following the success of Glazbury Road, presenting a reimagined take on the original track. Rather than simply revisiting familiar ground, the remix leans further into a Beatles-inspired, 1970s rock analogue sound, embracing the textures and warmth associated with that era while introducing subtle modern elements.
The track was recorded at Rooster Recording Studios in West London, where producer and engineer Nick Sykes guided the session, known for his work with acts such as Average White Band and Go West. Brought in by the hazy sound of flangey guitar tones, David’s expressive voice floats in to spin intricate melodies as the arrangement builds up with laid back percussion, bright brass textures and alluring backing vocals from Joanna Griggs, forming an immersive, psych-inflected soundscape.
Flowing with steady rhythmic energy and rolling through grooving instrumental passages, it’s a stunning jam dashed with misty power pop call and response style vocals and slick guitar work. Putting his songwriting talent and performance panache on full display, as well as his knack for reimagining music in exciting new ways, “Lucy (Remix)” sees David Goundry lay down an epic new version of his stellar song.
