From his early creative beginnings in Israel to his present base in Berlin, Fleanger has spent the past several years making a name in the electronic music world. As a producer and composer, his work transforms reflection into rhythm, allowing moments of melancholy to bloom into immersive sonic movement. It’s music that feels highly personal while remaining built for shared listening spaces, where emotion and atmosphere move together through enveloping electronic textures.
The name Fleanger itself offers a subtle clue to the artist’s approach; borrowing from the well-known flanger audio effect, the name suggests a sound that bends, flows and shifts through space. The added letter gives the word a personal twist, signalling both individuality and a lifelong connection to electronic music, an idea of transformation that runs throughout his work, where feelings and memories are reimagined through melody, rhythm and production.
His official musical journey began in 2018 with the release of the single “Leave Me Alone,” a track which marked the first step in a steadily growing catalogue that soon expanded through further singles, collaborations and EP releases. By 2020, that creative progression resulted in his debut full-length album So Am I, a record that brought together the ideas he’d been developing during his earlier releases. Alongside his own releases, Fleanger has also built a platform for other artists by starting the label Tiefe Resonanz Records as a home for musicians who share a similar focus on emotional storytelling through sound.

Now Fleanger continues that journey with the release of his latest EP titled Down. Created as a solo project in his Berlin studio, the record reflects a focused and carefully crafted creative process while taking inspiration from artists such as Lane 8, Ben Böhmer and Yotto, whose work shares a similar emphasis on emotional context and atmospheric storytelling.
Set up by the steady patter of percussion on title track “Down,” the airy flicker of distant piano notes shimmer in the background as hazy texture and warm low end gradually drift into focus. Flowing with delicate melodies and dreamy aesthetic, the track develops with gentle chords and intricate sonic details to form a wholly absorbing musical experience. Propelled by crisp drums which build and simmer with smooth ebb and flow throughout, “Down” delivers a stunning slice of chill house music that’s sure to charm listeners around the world.
The track then gets the remix treatment from Buenos Aires-based producer Marcos Calegari who injects pulsing bass elements and zappy synth tones to take the track in a moodier direction. Filtering all the delicate melodic moments from the original through a jittery dance-focused lens, the soft edges become sharper and the rhythm accented in this superb rework that frames the track in a completely new setting.
Closing the EP with another original track, “Body Language” brings shuffling beats and winding synth lines to form a mesmeric soundscape dashed with soulful vocalisations and bubbling instrumental flutters. Carried by the punch of delicate percussion and stacked with colourful electronic textures, it’s a truly transportive and subtly uplifting outing that delivers another epic display of Fleanger’s creativity and utterly compelling dance music offering.
