Based in New York, Jessie Altman has spent the last six years building a world that stretches beyond music alone, moving between songwriting, performance and fashion. Since introducing her sound with the 2020 debut EP No Rules, she’s continued to expand both her catalogue and her presence, forging an identity that balances a slick pop aesthetic with something more intimate beneath the surface.
Following a run of singles and EPs, she reached a new point with the release of her first full-length album Aftermath in 2024, a project that marked a clear step forward in both scale and intent. Around it, a series of moments began to align; touring alongside BBMAK and Tyler Hilton placed her music in front of wider audiences, while her growing visibility led to recognition across media and industry spaces. By 2025, that momentum had carried her into SPIN’s list of emerging artists to watch, reinforcing a sense that her work was beginning to settle into a broader cultural conversation.
At the same time, her presence has extended into fashion and appearances at Paris Couture Week and New York Fashion Week, alongside walking for Vivienne Westwood and fronting Waterford’s Icons That Bond Generations campaign, have positioned her within a different kind of spotlight. Yet these moments don’t feel separate from her music, they seem to mirror its aesthetic, adding to the visual dimension that runs alongside her sound.
Musically, Jessie Altman’s work leans into an impactful pop framework instilled with a lyrical approach that feels closer and more reflective. Now, following the success of recent singles “Mirror Mirror” and “Trick of the Light,” Jessie now bring sus her latest release with her new EP titled Sleepwalking.

Across its four tracks, Sleepwalking builds around the idea of illusion as something that can both protect and entice. Working with Grammy-winning producer Jason Lehning and mixer Craig Alvin, the EP opens with title track “Sleepwalking,” a delicate indie pop outing that flows with soft side-chained textures, gentle kick and alluring vocal leads. Gliding with dazzling melodic lines and dreamy instrumental tones, the song gradually blooms with the steady patter of drums and flutter of bright tones, serving up a charming soundscape that’s impossible not to love.
“Mirror Mirror” follows with tender piano backing and heartfelt vocal leads, casting a spellbinding scene that expands with hazy synth elements and the pulse of electronic percussion. Brimming with silky melodic writing and poignant lyricism, it’s a stunning slice of pop music full of swirling tones and enticing vocal performance.
With “Trick Of The Light,” the soft flicker of guitar gives way to uplifting piano chords as soaring vocal lines float above to set up an engrossing musical experience that develops with intricate beats and cinematic instrumentation. Closing the EP with “Hypnotic,” the bubble of synth ushers in Jessie’s smooth vocal lines as the track rolls into a dance-focused jam that jumps with bouncy rhythms and infectious hooks, crafting an instantly catchy finale to Jessie Altman’s stellar new EP release.
Commenting on the release, she shares, “For this project, I wanted to explore the idea of illusion, how it can both protect us and seduce us. The title track, ‘Sleepwalking,’ is about moving through life on autopilot, wondering when you’ll wake up. ‘Trick of the Light’ and ‘Mirror Mirror’ question what’s real versus what we choose to believe. ‘Hypnotic’ pulls listeners into a different kind of trance, the intoxicating feeling of losing yourself in someone else. Together, these songs are about waking up, even when it’s uncomfortable.”
