From Seoul to Los Angeles, yetep has built a sonic world of his own where electronic music serves as both a soundtrack and a growing community. A producer, DJ and humanitarian with an knack for connection, he’s become one of the most emotionally compelling voices in melodic bass and future bass, crafting tracks that shake with both meaning and power.
Now, after years of cultivating a loyal global following and earning the respect of tastemakers like Seven Lions, Dabin and Adventure Club, yetep now unveils his debut full-length record titled ÿ, released via the Lost In Dreams imprint, a project that distils not just his voayge as an artist, but as a person who believes deeply in what music can mean for people. The story of the ÿ album begins long before its first single dropped, before the festival stages and high-profile collaborations, yetep was a rising talent on SoundCloud and Tumblr, making open-format mixes that jumped between genres with no rules.
That sense of freedom, of discovery for its own sake, is what he’s channeled back into this record. “I started my music career making mixes on SoundCloud and posting them on Tumblr, just playing whatever I loved with no genre rules at all. That freedom is what made me fall in love with music in the first place. With this album, I wanted to bring that same energy back, the way my live sets feel. It’s all over the place on purpose. It’s genreless, and I’m really proud of that,” he explains. That genre-breaking ethos forms the beating heart of ÿ, with each track existing its own sound world, from emotive bass swells to euphoric builds and cinematic drops, yet together, they form a united reflection of yetep’s creative identity. It’s an album that celebrates contrast, intensity and quietude, heartbreak and healing, dancefloor euphoria and reflective stillness.
At the same time, ÿ represents a personal homecoming; after years spent developing his sound through releases on labels like Ophelia and Monstercat, yetep has arrived at a sound that feels expressive and highly original, a return to curiosity as creative compass. “Rather than starting with a strict concept, I wanted to let the project develop naturally and feel open, the same way my relationship with music began,” he shares. “Each track exists in its own world, but together they represent the freedom and curiosity that first inspired me to create. At its core, this album is about connection and honesty, and creating space for listeners to take away whatever the music means to them.”

The thirteen-track release is kicked off with “Same Love Twice” featuring the stunning vocal performance of Rosie Darling, whose voice brings in the song with alluring delivery sitting atop a bed of soft electronic textures. With the rattle of percussion and flicker of buzzing synths, the track surges before dropping with thumping beats, the zap of dancing synth leads and stacks of synth layers capped by dazzling vocal melodies to craft an engrossing dance pop music experience.
On “Take Me Home,” yetep links up with Micah Martin to cast an enchanting sonic spell that flows with delicate guitar notes and hushed vocal performance, gently building up with the punch of drums and swell in vocal intensity. Forging a gripping contrast between the uplifting synth lines and belted vocal leads, it’s a truly arresting soundscape that’s energising, emotive and thoroughly memorable all at once.
Other highlights on the record include songs like “Take Me Down” with Casey Cook with its moody vocal-led intro twisting into an aggressive charge of crunching synths and pounding beats, resulting in a thrilling slice of wholly absorbing electronic music. “Lullabye,” featuring Marlhy, presents a dazzling contrast with a moving jam of mellow electronic pop that glides with intimate vocal style, emotive lyricism and restrained instrumentation delivering an enveloping sonic fabric.
“Lose You” arrives with elegant acoustic guitar plucks and soft piano notes as Audra Miller’s silky voice floats in to craft an enchanting sound before the arrangement develops with the chug of muted guitar, setting up an epic drop that lands with the roll of rattling drums and atmospheric synth lines. Closing the album with “Paint The Sky,” yetep collaborates with Amidy to deliver one last outing of exquisite dance pop music brimming with punching beats, magnetic instrumentation and stellar vocal leads to form an incredible finale to his sensational debut full-length record.
