Hailing from Milan as a pianist, composer and producer, Dardust has spent his decorated career exploring the fringes of the modern instrumental music sphere while gliding through both classical and electronic spaces. His work has always carried a global reach; his music has soundtracked major cultural moments, from the Olympics to the Super Bowl and the NBA All-Star Game, placing his compositions in front of vast audiences. Alongside this, an impressive catalogue that includes more than 95 Platinum records and two victories at the Sanremo Festival speaks to an influence that extends far beyond his solo output, shaping the sound of music both in Italy and internationally.
But despite that scale, he continues to work with a curious spirit, with each release feeling like a new exploration, a shift in perspective rather than a continuation of what came before. From the cinematic sweep of his debut album 7 to the developing ideas found in Birth, S.A.D. Storm and Drugs and Duality, his work consistently dissolved the lines between structured composition and sonic experimentation.
That search continued with Urban Impressionism, a project that took cues from impressionist painting and brutalist architecture to veer into more conceptual territory, using sound as a way to interpret physical form and visual texture. Following that release, Dardust now introduces We Only Love Spaces and Doors, an EP that arrives at a moment of heightened visibility. Released in the wake of his performance at the Opening Ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games, the project feels connected to the themes surrounding that event.
Transformation, movement and the redefinition of limits simmer throughout its four tracks, mirrored in the way his music constantly shifts between restraint and expansion. The EP continues his fusion of acoustic piano and electronic experimentation, but there’s a particular focus on contrast, with moments of delicate, almost fragile melody giving way to immersive textures, creating a sense of motion that reflects the idea of crossing boundaries, both physical and emotional.

On opening track “We,” Dardust collaborates with Trio Cavalazzi to craft a delicate piano-focused outing that flows with flickering lead notes, airy lines and soothing string textures. Building throughout, the composition develops with stunning layers of strings and subtly rising energy to form a wholly absorbing soundscape of cinematic modern orchestral music.
“only love,” featuring Davide Rossi, shifts into Dardust’s electronic side on a track that rolls with pulsing kick, hazy vocal elements and brooding atmosphere. Dashed with stuttering piano notes and dancing string flashes, the track flows with danceable energy to serve up a spectacular showcase of Dardust’s ability to bring together contrasting musical worlds to form an engrossing new experience.
With “Spaces,” the swell of woozy synth textures and wobbling tones glides with downtempo percussion shots, crafting a loose rhythm that gradually coms into focus as bright flutters of synth leads sweep across the mix. Progressing through a shifting arrangement packed full of twists and turns, the track presents an incredible musical voyage unlike any other. Closing the EP with “and Door,” Dardust’s avant-garde vision takes over to forge an experimental musical moment that’s arresting, highly original and entirely consuming.
With a European tour scheduled for May, including dates in London, Paris and Lisbon, Dardust is preparing to reintroduce his music in a live setting in what’s sure to be an unmissable live music experience. Commenting on the release, Dadust shares, “We Only Love Spaces and Doors was born in that suspended space between separation and encounter. Doors are both a boundary and a promise – not barriers, but emotional thresholds.
I have always preferred doors to mirrors. Doors open onto what we do not yet know, onto new dimensions. Mirrors reflect what we already are – our ego. Doors, instead, require courage. They ask for a gesture. They ask to be crossed.”
