The music of Geoff & Soulmates exists slightly outside the rush of everything around it, offering songs designed to stand the test of time. The project builds songs that carry impact and atmosphere, instilled with profound themes and an emotional honesty that earns attention over time. Based in rock, but exploring various side of guitar-driven music, their sound moves with a softness that allows feeling to sit alongside melody, creating something that feels at once current and untethered to any single moment.
Since their debut in 2020 with Nothing Lasts Forever, Geoff & Soulmates have followed a steady and measured path. Rather than chasing rapid reinvention, each release has added another facet to a growing body of work, with the albums Expired? arriving in 2022 and A Trip Down Memory Lane following the year after. Across those records, a clear identity began to take shape, forged in reflection and emotional context, where storytelling is used to capture a feeling and let it breathe.
Now, with their latest album titled The Silence We Carried, that approach reaches a new level of focus, resulting in a release that moves beyond individual stories, shifting toward something more relatable by exploring silence, loss, determination and the things that often remain unspoken. It’s an album built not around resolution, but around the spaces in between, where meaning is felt rather than explicitly defined.
There’s a tension running through the record that gives it its shape; some songs arrive with energy, while others have been developed slowly, shaped by time and distance. That contrast becomes part of the listening experience, creating a sense of movement between past and present, between what is remembered and what is still being processed. The way the album was created reflects that sense of movement.

Recorded across multiple locations including the UK, the USA, Colombia and Brussels, The Silence We Carried carries the imprint of each place it passed through. Sessions at Plug The Jack studios in Brussels played a defining role in shaping the album’s final form as a place where the various elements came together.
Kicked off by the lively rock anthem “You’re All,” the crash of drums and crunch of guitars forms a driving arrangement before dipping back to leave room for the impassioned vocals. Serving up an instantly memorable slice of pop-focused rock music, it’s an epic display of the band’s catchy songwriting and performance talent.
Songs like “Don’t Let It Go” reveal the range on the record with a more delicate soundscape where split vocals glide above the bounce of lightly gritty guitars and pattering drums. “Forever Young” slows things down with intricate acoustic guitars and lilting rhythmic sway capped by emotive performance to deliver a moving moment.
“Wake Me at Forty Five” flows with a lazy Latin-inflected groove, where the soft taps of percussion and flicker of piano forms an engaging backdrop for expressive vocals to spin smooth melodic leads above. With The Silence We Carried, Geoff & Soulmates continue to make an impression with their highly unique sonic output, offering a superb new album that’s sure to win over new fans around the world.
