From Karjaa in Finland, SONICcontrol have spent more than a decade making music that aims for something deeper than comercial appeal. Their sound is based in rhythm and atmosphere, described as deep beats and music for the soul, but what defines the group most is the way they bring contrasting elements into conversation. Digital production meets live instrumentation, club energy meets reflective melody and electronic impact sits alongside something warmer and human.
The project is brought to life via a combination of individual strengths; Antsu’s background in DJing gives SONICcontrol its structure, shaping grooves that feel fluid. Alongside that, vocalists Sini and Nanne bring clarinet and saxophone skills into the project, adding textures less common within electronic spaces. Those live elements are stitched into their musical fabric, helping create melodic movement, layered harmonies and a sound unlike any other.
SONICcontrol use modern sound design to create momentum while organic instruments introduce variation in an interplay that gives the music its unique atmosphere, allowing tracks to feel truly immersive. For many years, the group worked on a project titled SONICcontrol feat. “Asylum Seekers,” creating music with refugees living in Finland. Together, they reimagined songs that held personal meaning for those involved, turning memory and displacement into shared expression while playing at events including Faces Festival and other venues.

That same openness runs through their newer releases, which often frame emotion through imagery and movement. Their latest track titled “Miracle of the Beach” turns toward tenderness and renewal. Revolving around feelings of love, passion, hope and future possibility, the song centres on the emotional shift that can happen while walking by the sea. Again, SONICcontrol build atmosphere through detail with the beats providing motion as soft soprano recorder lines drift alongside mystic vocals, humming harmonies and uplifting lyrics.
Drifting into focused with the stutter of pulsing tones, airy vocals float in above to cast a dreamy atmosphere that builds with the gentle patter of percussion. Delicate piano chords set a steady rhythmic flow as warm bass notes add to the laid back groove, forming a charming slice of alternative pop brimming with soothing melodies and heartfelt lyricism. Wrapped in a misty arrangement where intricate flute lines and playful piano plinks combine with the swirling synths, it’s a stunning outing that’s transportive, mesmeric and memorable all at once.
Dashed with bright pizzicato plucks and capped by alluring vocal performance, it’s a superb showcase of SONICcontrol’s delightful and meaningful musical output. As they share more of their engaging sonic vision with the world, SONICcontrol continue to impress on their enduring artistic adventure.
