TOTAL REVERENDS was forged in Rome through the meeting of two musicians whose individual paths had already been decorated by extensive experience and a wide creative range. Guitarist and vocalist Francesco Forni linked up with drummer Piero Monterisi to build something that could hold both discipline and spontaneity in the same frame; their backgrounds are diverse and that contrast has become central to the identity of the project.
From the beginning, TOTAL REVERENDS was conceived as a space where collaboration and experimentation could move side by side, a spirit already tested through a long run of concerts before the project fully took shape. Live performance appears to be written into the fabric of the band as the place where ideas are developed, stretched and sometimes completely transformed.
Francesco Forni traces the origins back to a booking in Rome when he decided to stage what he called the “Madonna concert.” For that event, he assembled a congregation of “priests” and “nuns,” twisting familiar songs until they became almost unrecognisable. That one-off concept gradually bloomed into something more substantial and The Madonna concert became the REVERENDS concert and eventually TOTAL REVERENDS.

Since 2024, they’ve been sharing a string of well-received singles in the build up to their eponymous debut record which landed last October. Now the duo return with a new single, “The Revolution Is Inevitable,” a title that lands with deliberate impact to deliver a sonic manifesto. Stacked with gritty guitars, commanding vocals and charging drums, it’s an alternative rock anthem cut with biting political lyricism and wrapped in punk angst.
Lyrically and conceptually, the single speaks of change, awareness and momentum, with the idea of revolution feeling like a pressure building beneath the surface until release becomes unavoidable. That same tension seems mirrored in the music itself, where propulsion and abrasion work together to create something powerful and energising.
Set up by Francesco’s smooth vocals and laid back guitar tones, the arrangement builds with the surging patter of drums before jumping into an uptempo rock scene that swells with bursts of crunching distortion. Rolling with memorable vocal hooks and slick ebb and flow, “The Revolution Is Inevitable” sees TOTAL REVERENDS serve up a sonic experience that’s exhilarating, original and thought-provoking all at once.
Reaching a rousing bridge where crowd style backing vocals land in call and response with Francesco’s compelling leads, the track shakes with pure sonic energy to craft a thrilling finale. Putting their meaningful songwriting and performance panache on full display, it’s another epic outing from a duo that continues to go from strength to strength with each move.
