Lipford is a Rome-based artist with a career already spanning more than two decades, gradually feeding into a musical identity based in emotion, reflection and sheer artistic determination. His work lands in the overlap between alternative rock intensity and acoustic intimacy, balancing thoughtful songwriting with melodic appeal in a formula that’s won over scores of loyal fans around the world. Before his solo material began reaching those listeners, Lipford had already established himself as a respected guitarist and composer through his work with the band MantraM, a project that remained active for seventeen years before eventually coming to an end in 2019.
That moment ultimately presented more of a pivot than an ending and Lipford used it as the beginning of something new. The transition into solo work opened space for a more stripped-back and emotionally direct creative approach, allowing him to explore acoustic-driven songwriting while expanding the emotional range of his sound. Influenced by artists such as Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tears for Fears, his music channels both emotion and impact, pairing poignant lyricism with arrangements that can move from delicate to explosive in a heartbeat.
His songwriting is driven by poetic observation and instilled with the textures of ordinary life, exploring the experiences, frustrations and hopes that shape us all. Since making his solo debut in 2020 with “Run Away,” he’s been going from strength to strength across multiple releases, gathering hundreds of thousands of streams while staking his claim as a compelling presence in the alternative singer-songwriter world.

Now, with his seventeenth release, Lipford returns with “The Music” and this time, he collaborates with Rome-based hard rock band Neverhush, whose contribution injects the track with a heavier and more aggressive sound. Known for their albums Mai Silenzio and Senza Regole, Neverhush bring a sense of raucous energy that expands the emotional scale of the song. Recorded by Francesco Grammatico at Jungle Music Factory and produced independently, “The Music” thematically reflects on why artists continue creating even in the face of disappointment, uncertainty and exhaustion.
Mixing and mastering were entrusted to Matteo Marciano, a multi-platinum engineer with over twelve years of experience, who has worked with artists such as Anna Kendrick (triple platinum for “Cups”), Pitbull, 2Cellos, Chetty, Zosia Mamet, and Jacopo Volpe, as well as major companies including DreamWorks, Disney, Pixar, and Universal. His credits also include acclaimed films like “Pitch Perfect,” “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and “John Wick.” The final stages of mixing and mastering took place at Sonic Dunes Studio in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Brought in by the taps of cymbal, the track erupts with chugging, metal-inflected riffs as the steady patter of drums propels the gritty arrangement forward. As Lipford’s commanding vocals enter, he delivers emphatic melodic leads above the charging instrumentation, framing his songwriting in a powerful alternative rock soundscape. Surging into an anthemic chorus where biting guitar lines glide alongside Lipford’s expressive voice, the song offers a thrilling listening experience that’s sure to leave a lasting impression.
Swelling with scorching, wah-dreched guitar leads which soar above the shifting half-time rhythms, the breakdown rolls towards one final chorus where overlapping vocal layers form an utterly engrossing finale. It’s a spectacular showcase of Lipford’s songwriting flair and performance panache while bringing his music alive in a collaborative setting.
