The Hospital was conceived by an Argentinian-Australian artist as a project that stretches beyond a recording alias to become a concept, a creative refuge and a developing community built around the simple idea that people should feel comfortable being themselves. That philosophy echoes well beyond the music, filtering into its visuals, events and the welcoming spirit that surrounds everything connected to The Hospital and creativity has been stitched into the very fabric of the project since its start.
Growing up immersed in poetry, photography, film and music, the artist absorbed multiple forms of expression before eventually developing a voice that naturally combined them all. Time spent between Australia, New York and Los Angeles widened that perspective even further, offering an international backdrop that would later feed into his work before London eventually became home. Now based in Soho, he writes, records and edits every aspect of The Hospital himself with that complete creative control giving the project a unified identity, where songs and visuals feel intrinsically linked to one another.
Soho itself has become its own source of inspiration for the artist with its streets, businesses, artists and characters all finding their way into The Hospital’s creative output through music videos, photography and local events, allowing the neighbourhood to become an active participant in the project’s story. Through sound, The Hospital inhabits an inviting space between pop, shoegaze and modern new wave with melodic songwriting sitting alongside hazy atmosphere and candid lyrics.
That vision first came into view through the debut EP Trying to Fall Asleep in 2024, a four-track release that mapped out the project’s emotionally transparent perspective. Following a short pause, The Hospital has now returned with new material leading towards the forthcoming sophomore EP, Without You Is Hard, which is set to land on the 21st of August.

The latest chapter arrives in the form of “Shampoo,” the third single from the upcoming record and a song that revolves around a feeling that many people recognise yet seldom grasp, the quiet moment when a relationship has already begun to fade long before it officially ends. There’s no dramatic confrontation at the heart of the song nor tale of betrayal or explosive argument and no singule event that changes everything overnight. “Shampoo” captures something far subtler, when two people remain together while quietly understanding that the future they once imagined is no longer the one that awaits them.
That poignant context is filtered through a dreamy alternative pop soundscape that flows with tapped drums, intricate guitar-focused arrangement and emotive vocal performance. Opened by the gentle drum pattern of mellow clean guitar notes, The Hospital’s tender voice floats in, carrying picture painting lyrics with the aching sense of anguish that accompanies the theme of the song. The Hospital writes from inside the strange stillness that comes before full heartbreak takes hold and through that lens he casts a subtly devastating musical moment that’s impossible not to be moved by.
Led by memorable melodic leads brought to life with soothing rhythmic sway and restrained instrumentation, “Shampoo” sees The Hospital deliver a highly affecting listening experience from start to finish. As anticipation builds towards the upcoming EP’s arrival, The Hospital continues to pair intimate storytelling with atmospheric pop to create a musical world where the most powerful emotions can be dissected in an open and meaningful fashion.
