Consequential shares debut EP ‘I’m Alive’

Based in the UK, producer Consequential has progressed over recent years as a thoroughly exciting name in the modern electronic music scene. Driven by a constant process of reinvention, the producer’s journey reaches back nearly two decades, moving through radically different musical worlds before arriving at the sound he now creates. That path has carried him from the intensity of hardcore punk into the detailed, bass-led electronic sphere that now inform their work, carrying forward a constant sense of energy that’s never fully disappeared, only twisted into new sonic shapes.

The aggression and force of his early band experiences remain present, but now reimagined through a more intricate electronic lens. Instead of loud guitars and live chaos, that same energy is channelled into production choices that balance impact with subtlety, where slick rhythmic structures sit alongside delicate melodic lines, offering music that feels emotionally charged and carefully constructed, as though every element is placed with meaning.

After years cutting his teeth in live band environments and high-energy performance spaces, Consequential eventually stepped away from music entirely. When he returned in late 2022, it was a complete reset and the debut single “(4)” signalled a shift towards experimental electronic production while still carrying the forward momentum of club-focused music.

From that moment onward, Consequential’s output has expanded steadily, each release contributing another layer to a growing sonic world. Today, Consequential’s music sits in the overlap where euphoric energy and melodic appeal often land within the same composition. Now he brings us his most ambitious release thus far with his debut EP titled I’m Alive, a four-track record which represents the result of over a year of careful reconstruction.

Each piece within the EP went through multiple stages of transformation, built, dismantled and rebuilt again until it reached its final form. Kicked off by fluttering vocal sample chops and swirling instrumental elements on “Body Language,” a spacious atmosphere stretches out while the taps of percussion set up a rolling beat that injects rattling drum and bass energy to deliver an enthralling dance music experience that’s invigorating and peppered with bright melodic flourishes and lively vocal flashes.

“Enjoy the Moment” arrives with bursts of hazy vocalisations and soft instrumental pips before launching with charging drums and stacks of synth tones.
